Cornell is a perfect example of how to build an Suburban Community with a new successful main street that is pedestrian and bike friendly where cars are meant to be out of site out of mind like in older built up urban hoods.

This is part of their current plan. As you can see the entire development is built like an Inner City community. All the homes have a lane way for their cars, no big box stores to be found and a new Main Street that is only getting bigger. All of the larger structures are community centres, schools, senior homes and a Hospital (pre-existing). This is how all large scale suburban developments should be done.
