I'm not quite sure what you are asking, but what I can say is that given the recent photos (thank you Hunter), the building, with its glass skin and highlighted structural support beams especially noticeable during the light of different times of the day, is becoming more handsome each day. I can't wait for the day of completion; and I'm especially eager to see the lighting effects what with all of the implanted LED lights

It would seem that a very, very tall tower incorporating residential, hotel, and business functions to be more appropriate to this site

^ Isn't there a minimum height requirement for this lot?

No, there's no height minimums anywhere in LA that we're aware of. That was a rumor started on this site by someone, and not sure how or why it took traction.

So, 43 stories, 436 units... how big could the footprint be? I don't mind a building of this height there, as long as it doesn't take up the whole lot.

I'm all for it. 611 Place, One Cal Plaza, and Ernst & Young all have about 42 floors so it should give you an idea of how tall it should be. Ernst & Young is basically across the street so it would fit right in.

Not sure that's a good comparison, though. All those buildings you mentioned are primarily office, so floor-ceiling heights are higher than a residential building with the same amount of floors, no?

Remember, the original Park Fifth proposal had 76 stories, yet it was going to be 200 ft shorter than US Bank.

Yeah, this tower should be at least ~50 feet shorter than E&Y.

maybe we'll get lucky and they'll add some architectural decoration and it will boost the height.

We're probably looking at something in the 500'-550' range, based on similar towers being built around town. A more prominent architectural crown could push it a bit higher, but that seems about par for the course.

I love those fuckin bulldogs. It's such a weird, wonderful detail that gives the building way more character than it would have had otherwise.
