Really nice building. I like Cira I, but suddenly in context with FMC, it now appears somewhat less elegant - more stubby and stunted than this soaring, thin beauty.

It's like putting a long legged Super Model right next to Rosie O'Donnell - long vertical lines are just more appealing.

Have you ever seen a picture of Cira's sister in Madrid, the Torre de Cristal?

I was driving up the SureKill last night and got thinking about the exterior lighting. I'm guessing that the public lighting will probably stop at the point where the apartment floors start. I'm saying that because I doubt that anyone would want a strip of lighting that could change in color and maybe in intensity right under their bedroom windows. I could be way off base in that assumption, but if I'm not I got thinking it might look pretty strange to have a public lighting set up on the bottom 2/3's of the building and then on the top have who knows what depending on who's home and what type of lights they have. All in all, not a bad problem to have.

Agreed about Evo, but have to say I love the Cira Centre's angles and changing shape from different directions. Both FMC and Cira 1 are beautiful I think in their own right.

No complaints from me about FMC or Cira. I wish they'd stayed with that theme for Evo.

They were going to originally if you look at early renderings but for some reason they changed up the design later.

I believe the design change was due to the change of the purpose of the building from preliminary plans. Evo may be the most ridiculously expensive student housing building, but it's still student housing rental apartments. Evo may not compare well to the other Cira Centers which contain high end office space, but it certainly compares very favorably to most student housing going up in university city.

I prefer the mix of styles, but that's just me. I think when there's too much cohesion in a master plan in such a large area you end up with something like Detroit's Renaissance Center. It looks cool on its own (or did when it was built), but it makes the skyline look off-balance, like there's a city in a city.

Looks amazing from that view. Really makes it look like a more elongated skyline IE Chicago.

What kills me is skyline wise the towers really only span half the distance between the rivers when really there is no reason for it not to be river to river.

Eventually, hopefully. or at least down to around 6th and Market. I'm not sure I ever see many tall towers sprouting up in Old City or by the Delaware.
