The parking lots at Finch have a a combined capacity of about 3,500 which is a drop in the bucket for overall usage on the Yonge line. Many times more passengers arrive via feeder buses. They aren't free either and I don't think even reach capacity anymore.
Also for those wondering the parking lot is within a hyrdo corridor so there's really not a whole lot more you could do with the land (other than a linear park of course). Although it certainly illustrates what a land hog surface parking can be.
