It spreads like a disease, developers are addicted to this bland and soulless look which does not create attractive communities. I sometimes view all our new Vancouver condos as the new 'commie blocks', tower after tower of cheap glazing and spandrel, mostly seafoam or grey. After just a few years they look worn and bland and the shoddy materials age terribly. I hope Halifax can avoid this terrible trend by demanding better and more creative materials and maybe The Maple will serve as a warning.
