What's up with the grassy lots along Williams Street in between 12th and 16th - does the state own that land?

No, the northernmost is a proposed development of 1270 Spring Street. GDOT does own a small parcel southwest of that site though.

Georgia Power, PBS Land Acquisitions LLC, and a handful of others own land where you asked about. Source: http://gis.atlantaga.gov/dpcdviewer/

Marta has announced its full dream project list for the new half-penny sales tax
http://news.wabe.org/post/marta-unveils-its-dream-list-atlanta-transit-expansion

The list is everything they would like to do. But they will have to prune the list based on what people want the most as the projects cost more than they will get from the sales tax hike. Ashe did seem to indicate that MARTA is strongly in favor of Beltline rail of some kind as part of this so I would expect some of that to have a high likelyhood of making the cut. (Especially the Westside and Eastside extensions since they would cost probably only 200-300million).

I'm only in favor of including Clifton Corridor if Dekalb County comes on board with expanding its sales tax as well.

Pollack Shores has announced a new rental project in Sandy Springs that is much larger in total units than the one they just canceled in Buckhead. So, that means they don't believe the overall ATL market is saturated, just that Buckhead is going that way, in their opinion. I suppose 5-miles (roughly) make a lot of difference in their minds, and there are thousands of jobs coming to the Central Perimeter.

I know the Midtown DRC recommended they make changes to the hotel to take into context the style of the surrounding buildings. I hope they do that. That hotel doesn't look like it would fit well at all...

I hope they think Midtown is oversaturated. Their Spring Street project is fugly and a waste for such a prime spot.

The Peachtree and 3rd development is also in this area and it clearly does not take the surrounding architecture and it looks fantastic. My issue is what was presented looks like (rhymes with it), not that it will not fit into the existing architecture. With that said, the architect for this project TVSdesign (http://www.tvs-design.com/) has designed some incredible projects.

Page 3 has Midtown in case you wanted something already formatted. Some of the areas you requested were out of the scope though: http://www.midtownatl.com/_files/docs/midtown-development-activity-maps.pdf

If MARTA wants to remain a viable option for airport commuters, express trains are needed that skip some of the existing/infill stops. If people need to get to the airport from those stations they just hop a local train to the next express stop.
