That article is riddled with errors and incomplete information. 221K SF is 4x the size of a Walmart? Regina's Walmarts are 190K SF. Also this is just the mainstreet component of Horizons (Shops on West Market). The whole shopping centre is 700K SF.

True, but I don't know if I'd call the area north of the Dewdney strip much more appealing.

I just read the re-zoning application that is going to the RPC tonight. this CBC article is even worse than I thought. Horizon's at Westerra is old news. The concept plan was approved long ago and it has been discussed on this forum for probably more than a year. The issue going to the RPC is just to allow the urban street fronts shown above in the Shops on West Market portion of the development. That is, to allow minimal set backs.

Maybe CBC should just read this forum.

If Artful Dodger is moving - one has to assume something else would move into that space. It's a great space and unique venue.

The one really nice thing about the Weston's re-development is that they actually have a landscape plan. The Warehouse district need more trees.

That reminds me. Aberrant, is Rebellion going their landscaping this spring?

Landscaping was done last fall. The pic above was a concept, nothing more.

We had more elaborate plans, but had difficulty getting approval. So we planted roses, junipers, cherry trees and haskap trees in the front. It is going to take a few years for the plants to develop and mature.

I took this pic on Monday of our cherry blossoms:

And we have many more years of plans for improvements to our property.

For the last 10-15 years, I always thought 11th Ave east of Broad had the potential to be our equivalent of the rivitalized Saskatoon Riversadale, but it just never happened beyond Artful Dodger.

Weren't you planning on some graffiti art on the building as well? Is that planning for this year?

Yes, we were indeed planning that. Would still like to, but some external constraints are preventing it from proceeding this year.

There will indeed be a few other small additions to our property this year, one may start as early as next week, I will post pics when complete.

Thanks, we are far from experts when it comes to building design and landscaping. Just think it is important to stand out and look good. We have a bunch more long term ideas, will be interesting how it all plays out.

I thought it was happening as there has been a lot of renewal on that stretch, but the "Chinatown" they were hoping to develop has mostly sputtered other than the fake immigrant businesses set up to qualify for immigration exemptions.

There's a lot of potential there, but we need something that anchors the area. The Chinese grocer that closed was that anchor for a bit. The restaurant there serves some very fine soups and noodle bowls, but it is out of the way to generate much traffic even at lunchtime.
