Looks great, and clearly they have the intensity jacked up for the testing phase.
Yup, too bright, even though it's only a test. Maybe the real test was to gauge the tolerance level of the neighbours.

It looks like the blinds are installed in the lower section now.

I cannot wait for that sidewalk to be done on Robson.

Once it gets going, I wonder how visible the plumbing is going to be for the fountains in the pond by the glass elevator.

They seem to opening up the facade a bit on the old building along Seymour Street. Or were those openings already there?

Still a fair amount of balcony railings and glass to be installed on the upper floors of the condo tower.

Those rectangular openings seem to be new. Here is the most previous pic I could find from almost three months ago. And a look at the model pic posted years ago by Built Form.

Hopefully those 70's precast concrete panels will be entirely removed so they will set back that lower facade of the 50's building as it would have been. That model also doesn't show the ugly addition to the top. whats in there?

The pipes would have been better hidden if the main pipe was placed between the planters.
One fountain head seems really close to a planter.
Who are the [morons] designing this stuff?

The precast removal could be a for a new lobby entrance.
Hopefully the removal is more extensive than just above the lobby doors.

Let's call it the "mystery plumbing". Here's another angle.

I'm told its a new emergency generator system, designed to run for days.

I can see them filling the space with river rocks or similar to just above the height of the pipes, and in doing so effectively hide them while providing 'splash dampening' for the water feature evidently being installed.

oh cool. i just wished they had made an effort to extend the original facade over the addition to make it look not so 'tacked on'. As for the lower street level facade, it would be great to have a wider sidewalk and all glass in the setback where the concrete panels are, giving the old building a floating appearance.

They should also do some kinda vibrant pixel art on the old facade to update it instead of those boring light grey panels that will be replacing the green panels with. Taking a simple mid century building and make it all grey, it just gives it that sad soviet look.

Kinda seems like a waste to tile the fountain pool if you will cover it with stones? IMO paint the pipes a flat dark grey to blend in when they're submerged and the water movement should make them disappear.

But why would they tile it? I predict we will see piping and river rock will just get really disgusting quickly and make it harder to keep clean

Here is my last contribution from my angle. Pretty much completed from outside and I think it fits its place nicely. Original colors could have been even better, but it is still a spectacular building. Nice addition in Downtown.

Great shots, love the offset from that angle.

It just won't be the same from Burnaby...

Damn. I didn't think the dissing would begin before I move to the 'burbs.

Downtowners are indeed a snobby breed, considering even us poor suburbanites-to-be as part of the Axis of Evil.

Okay… time to cue up the Benny Hill Show theme music.

I wonder what it will look like next week?
