Yes I laugh when I see a truck in the ditch in a snowstorm. 9 times out of 10 it's because they were driving like assholes because they think they're invincible. About the only truck drivers I respect are the ones who only use them for work. You can always spot those ones too. They're actually modest looking, not jacked up with truck nuts and 60K of upgrades. And they tend to have dings and actual stuff in the bed of the truck.

I won't say everyone that drives a truck is a jerk.

But when a vehicle goes dangerously speeding off as soon as a light turns green, 9 times out of 10 it's a big jacked up truck.

When I see a vehicle hop a curb to impatiently make a turn past another vehicle, well, you can guess that ain't a Focus or a Civic, nor even a BMW or Audi.

Pot successfully stirred. That certainly did bring out some ugliness.

There's a big difference between modified douched up trucks driven by retards and stock trucks which are very practical and useful for doing fun outdoors stuff, as well as mundane stuff like moving furniture and bringing stuff to the dump. Once you get one you won't go back.

It's true about them mostly being in the ditch though, despite what everyone thinks they are terrible in slippery conditions, especially with no weight in the back.

There are many stories with cars and I won't begrudge anyone that only has a truck. Now the picture MolsonExpert posted of the rollin' coal truck is spot on as one of the uglier things around. Thankfully it is not too wide-spread in Canada, ugly as it may be.

I'll say that out of people I know that own a truck, I don't know anyone that doesn't have a second vehicle of some sort. I am definitely in the minority being a family with only one car. Even my parents have two cars which is weird because it is only the two of them.

They should at least need some sort of permit with an approved list of potential justifications to get the truck.

I've seen (maybe three?) sets here where the truck has a four-wheeler in the back and is pulling a trailer with two skidoos and everything has a matching paint job.

Not sure if I like that more (since the truck is actually being used) or less.

I work with guys who own trucks but drive a lot for work. They don't normally drive them to work as a Ford Focus is a hell of a lot more fuel efficient than a Ford F-150 that mostly gets used to haul a trailer and go camping or haul stuff to the dump. I have nothing against truck drivers who aren't Napoleon syndrome douchebags who are a menace on the roads. I also see the need for trucks for work and also for hauling things. I don't see the need when it's a guy who works downtown or in a white collar profession.
