I'm surprised they didn't put it together at the station. That will be hard to transport, unless they do it by helicopter. That would be really cool to see.

The temporary "Exit Only" stair for Joyce station east station house has been moved into position.
A side panel of the existing stair had been removed. May be the upper stair portion will be retained to connect to the temporary stair?

I was down near there the other day, and notice a very narrow yellow flat car pulled by a very small diesel motor on the railway tracks, looked like they were using it to haul in a large concrete piece.

I wonder if that's part of the skytrain maintenance of way set being re-purposed to deliver things to the bottom of the cut?

Loving the updates. Interesting pattern for the new Broadway platform.

I did notice that the call sign of that Mark 2.5 (that's what I call them) is incorrect (should be Waterfront)... anybody know how often this happens? I'm pretty sure I've seen that at least once before.

It happens all the time. I find it usually happens when the control operators alter the normal routing (like crossing a train over from Commercial Inbound to VCC-Clark Outbound for timing). It also causes the lights on the interior map to get stuck in a weird state.
If someone in the field tells them about it, they can force the train computer to update the signage.

On-topic: I am so excited to see how this lattice design comes together at Broadway

The construction site at the Metrotown Station is absolutely massive. It now stretches from McKay Avenue to a little bit west of the current station. This thing's gonna be a beast when it's done!

Nope. The trellis will be on the east side and the hoops will remain on the west.

Lame. well hopefully it looks well integrated when complete. I guess the entire thing will get painted white?

There's a potential plan to replicate it on the west side too. Just not now.

Note in the drawing that the steel "tree" column (now supported on an I-beam) will eventually reach ground (unless the design has changed).

Big yellow notice posted at Joyce station. The east stationhouse will be closed from May 7 until further notice.
Let's hope the closure doesn't last for 18 months.
