Yes it will replace Deux-Montagnes, reviving the old Red line Metro project (rapid transit using the Mount Royal Tunnel).
Construction is set to start next spring with an end date in 2020. Maybe 2021 for certain phases. The Deux-Montagnes branch will certainly be ready for 2020 as most of the infrastructure is already there (rail and catenary).
This is certainly one of the most important transit projects in the country with GO RER. It would become the 3rd biggest automated system in the world after Dubai and Vancouver. Plus 67km is almost as long as the current Metro system, so this is like a complementary/secondary Metro system.
