It's the same architect (Smallwood Reynolds Stewart Stewart SRSSA)as the Related project on 14th street but a different developer. Not surprising that it looks the same. I guess at least it's not a Skyhouse product.

In turn, Main Street Partner Group—the independent company headed by Neal—has been drafting a vision of what uses would eventually go on the site."

Is this development taking the place of some pesky "old" (historic) shops and offices? Most of downtown Hapeville appears pretty historic looking...

Wowwwwwww I didn't notice the similarities until you put them side by side l. As much as I want to see more development in Midtoen, here's hoping the facade and crown gets a little more creative than these replicas.

The population density of this census district (West Peachtree to PP & 10th to 14th) if every proposal is built, would be between 40,000 and 50,000 persons/sq mi. For reference, it was 14,000 ppsm in the 2000 census and 20,000 ppsm in the 2010 census.
The worst part of 13th is just west of the new 195 proposal in that photo...no active ground floor uses on both sides of the street. The Mayfair parking deck (plus another more horrible one) starts across from the Yoo site and goes all the way up to Juniper, and the Park Central service drive/small parking area and entrance to the parking deck starts just after the lot beside 195 and goes up almost to the corner of Juniper. It's a shame that was ever allowed...too bad we have so many dinosaurs like these along what are otherwise great pedestrian streets. At least there are shade trees along the street.

What? 14th street is a street, not a block. Which part of 14th street?

Also I think the intersection of Peachtree & International Blvd would like to disagree with you.

Sorry I didn't detail the whole block for you, but if you're at all familiar with Atlanta you have a decent guess which block I was alluding to. Between juniper, 13th, Piedmont, and 14th. Just ripping what was included in the following article:

I feel like the few times I walked by the Mayfair deck there was enough space between it and the road that in theory they could add some retail on to it, though I don't know the implication on air flow for the parking deck.

I'm surprised I remember seeing a sign at the property that looked more modern, also the permits say there are 4 separate buildings being developed for the project in Accela.

Also a new render was put on the midtown alliance recap page for 195 13th st.

And here are the Midtown Alliance construction updates for the month of March

Quote:
Each month, we provide a construction update on our current Public Space Projects. See what's happening as we give you more to love about Midtown.

Peachtree Streetscape: Ponce de Leon to Pine St. - Midtown’s southernmost section of Peachtree St. from Ponce de Leon Avenue to Pine Street is receiving a facelift. New sidewalks, curbs, ADA ramps, paving, supplemental lighting, landscaping, a mid-block crossing near Emory University Hospital Midtown, and other improvements will enhance the link between Midtown and Downtown Atlanta. Construction has been underway since November, and the majority of hardscape work has been completed south of Linden Ave. Crews are currently working on the west side of Peachtree between Ponce and North Ave. Supplemental street trees will be planted in the next 1-2 weeks, and the entire project will be finished by Fall 2016.

Peachtree Street Bridges (North and South) - Midtown Alliance, in cooperation with Central Atlanta Progress (CAP), is directing a $6 million enhancement of the two Peachtree Street bridges over I-75/85. This effort will celebrate the bridges on either end of Midtown as gateways to Atlanta's urban core. Enhancements include new gateway features, bridge fencing, lighting, and pedestrian and bicycle facilities. CAP's contractor began construction on the South (Downtown) bridge between Pine Street and Ralph McGill Boulevard in late October. The pedestrian barrier/planter walls have been installed on both sides of the bridge and will be planted this month. Construction mobilized in mid-November on the North (Midtown) bridge with installation of protective Interstate overhangs, removal of old fencing, and installation of temporary protective fencing. The pedestrian barrier/planter wall on one side of the bridge is complete, the other side is about 35% done, and pedestals will soon be poured for the steel arches. Shop drawings are nearing approval for fencing, signage, and arches. Construction of the bridge enhancements will be complete by December 2016.

7th Street Two-way Conversion - The Connect Atlanta Plan calls for 7th Street to be converted to two-way traffic between West Peachtree St. and Piedmont Ave. Design plans have been permitted and construction awarded. Contractors mobilized last month and poured the footing for a new traffic signal mast arm at Peachtree and 7th Streets. The full conversion, including paving of 1 block, traffic signals, signage, and pavement re-striping will be complete by June 2016.

Sidewalk Repairs - Since November 2014, construction crews have been busy tackling a scope of 150 priority repairs on 11 corridors throughout the Midtown Improvement District. Work includes patching or replacing concrete, resetting pavers, curb and ADA ramp upgrades, and other sidewalk repairs to help maintain and improve Midtown's walkability. Approximately 80 repairs have been completed to-date. Crews will soon replace additional bollards in medians at the intersection of 14th St. and Piedmont Ave. and will return to repair hardscape at the intersection of Ponce de Leon and 3rd St. Repairs will continue throughout 2016.

Enhancements

Tree Management Program (ongoing) - Because we place tremendous value on Midtown's urban tree canopy, Midtown Alliance invests in an annual care regimen of planting, fertilization, pruning, and other treatments for street trees within the Midtown Improvement District. We regularly consult with arborists to assess, prioritize, and manage our tree inventory. In December and January, crews pruned Oak trees along Peachtree St. between 14th St. and I-75/85 and American Elms throughout the District, to improve their structure and form and raise branch levels over streets and sidewalks. In February, we administered annual injections of slow release macro and micro nutrients into the root zones of 1,337 street trees totaling 11,047 caliper inches. Additionally, we removed 7 small trees from existing tree wells and a parcel slated for redevelopment to new locations better-suited for their long-term survival. Last month, we removed a handful of diseased, dying, or missing street trees and replaced them with new, healthy, urban-tolerant trees.

Tree Well Fencing and Planting - Midtown's Tree Well Adoption Program has been underway since 2013. To-date 262 tree wells have been adopted by partners, and new tree well fencing and low-water use perennials and flowers have been installed along much of Peachtree Street from Ponce to 15th Street. The tree wells at 999 Peachtree St. were recently expanded to give trees more room to grow, fencing has been installed and landscaping will be installed shortly. Look for more fencing and beautiful new plants on other priority Midtown corridors throughout 2016.

That would be nice...maybe it will happen one day. The Mayfair deck is not all that bad and there is a bit of space between it and the sidewalk, but the deck between it and Juniper is really offensive. I think it connects to what used to be 14th Street Playhouse on Juniper, and it is a horribly ugly 1980s-looking monstrosity. This is already a nice residential street but these mistakes really detract from it. Absolute dead space.

Source? I'm wondering who the architect is. Looks a lot like Berne St Apartments from Dwell Design Studio.

That's not the same project- unless they're copying the exact project in Charlotte.

A Google image search revealed it's Humphreys & Partners - but this isn't the Cheshire Bridge Rd Project referenced above but a project in Charlotte, NC.

The image might be suggestive as to the intent of what the project will look like but it's not the Cheshire Bridge project. The address on the image even says "South Boulevard" ....referencing the Charlotte project 1200 South Boulevard.

Nothing is this much 'alike'-- must be a mix-up somewhere-- If true and its not the same architect, there's a copyright lawsuit there somewhere--
