I would rather BMO continue to upgrade the current stadium, it has a good location right on the rail line and as others have stated, this is the same way the pitches in England are built. Phase on top of phase..

Absolutely nothing in this world gets me more fired up than north Americans copying European soccer lingo. It's a fucking field.

Would you say the Jays play on a baseball pitch? Or the broncos play on a football pitch? Why do MLS fans strive to be so European? Why not come up with North American values and traditions. You people are stalkers. That's what I love about the CFL it's purley Canadian, it's not some watered down NFL wannabe.

Gridiron football is an evolution of "rugby football" (its original name) which has a tradition centuries old. No need to be hypocritical, if it were truly North American it wouldn't be called "football" but rather "egg ball", "Huron ball" or "pointy ball". If you can say football, we can say pitch.

^^^ Well when you converse with Brits who use those terms or read books or articles using those terms it's pretty easy to pick up the lingo. Seems like kind of a pointless thing to get angry about. Language is fun and maybe some people like adopting speech from outside of the North American English bubble.

BMO is quite the stadium and the pitch should be in tip-top shape prior to their first home match once that canopy is completed.

A basketball isn't the shape of a basket.
A baseball isn't the shape of a base.
Why would a football be pointy ball?
If you want to refer to a soccer ball as a football, should it be shaped like a foot?

If the sport should be named after the shape of its ball, then baseball, basketball and soccer should all be renamed, "roundball" by your logic
