Yes correct. Dream seems to also be calling it Eastbrook on the Greens. Maybe they changed the name? Its the bare land immediately north of the Greens and west of Tower Rd.

Harbour Landing isn't so bad since it ties into the local area (at least in my opinion), but a lot of other new names seem really, well, lame.

And don't get me started on developers' choices for street names! In a perfect world the city would be 100% in charge of street names, not developers! Maple Ridge is the all-time worst:

My cousin lived in Maple Ridge, and I s*** you not, one time I went to her place and a yard-sale sign said "Garage Sale: 1925 Maple." Maple! Maple what!? It's infuriating, haha.

It is my understanding that this practice has been banned. Harvard attempted to do this on the small scale for Westerra and the names were rejected.

Nothing, in my opinion, can top Wascana View where completely separate streets/crescents can be named identically only differentiated by numbers.

I do not know exactly what the current plans are, but the area plan was (from North to South) Aurora (Harvard) The Towns North (Dream) The Towns South (Dream). I do not know where this Eastbrook came from and I don't know why they would add in "Greens" when that is the name of a rival development.

Also, I'm not sure if everyone has seen Dream's commercial plan for Harbour Landing called The Runway. Harvard must not have exercised their option or however their plan was structured.

I'm surprised they'd take the Parliament spot with them opening up a White City location soon. That'll canabalize their South Albert and Victoria East locations.

^Could also be a Shoppers with food? It's really not a massive footprint.

As for cannibalising if it's Sobey's... I'm not sure it would; I think there is enough new population in the Harbour Landing area and enough out East of Regina to be a net positive. Sobey's would be the first large scale grocery option in the White City area no? (Shoppers could be putting their new format out there too though).

I was at the South Albert location this week and they had letters up saying that the owners were leaving the South store and starting the Emerald Park location as an IGA (I thought they had gotten rid of that brand here). Does anyone know what is happening with the South Albert location? Did another person buy it, or is it a corporate store now?

As for The Runway (horrible name in my opinion...but I may just hate all these names haha), I assume they are going to have to do major road work to accommodate the entrances/exits. Right now there is only a single break in the median (shown on the design map), but it's a left-turn driving westbound (turning south into the business park). So they're going to have to change that...I hope.

Speaking of that, what the heck is the city going to do about Parliament Ave further down, once it passes Harbour Landing Dr? Right now it's a solid median all the way down, which means there will be no eastbound access (or eastbound exit) from the north side of Parliament when it is all filled in by commercial/residential development. As an example, there is that new Parliament Place apartment building that just went up (and somehow has people moving in even without a parking lot), but you can only get in if you are westbound, and can only exit westbound. It's a horrible design. Will the city/developers be adding turning lanes into the median for these locations?

That Shoppers in EP has been ready to go for months but the signs are all covered over. What gives?

They have jobs posted on their website and on workopolis for it.

Also, an article in the White City/Emerald Park Star from September said Shoppers confirmed spring 2016 and said they were aware a Sobeys was being built.

A few people told me that they weren't going to open because there was a dispute with the developer due to the Sobeys going up (something regarding non-compete clause) but all those rumors seem to be BS.

Does the new red paint on the building signify anything? Is that a corporate store identifier?

The reasoning I heard for this was the builders screwed up and built the building slightly to far north, limiting the parking spaces available along with the issue of sobeys being built right next door. Thus resulting in renegotiating with the developers. But that could of been total BS.

The Viterra Building will look so much better when they finish the windows on the lower two floors. There is a lot of ugly 1970's off white terrazzo on the main that has to go. The attached tower has to be Regina's ugliest tower.

The corner of Victoria and Albert may one day be as awesome an intersection as Regina's original founders has hoped.

No the sole reason is that the developers failed to tell Shoppers they were planning to build a Sobeys right next door... then the lawyers get involved. Nothing BS about it.

The retail mind is unlike others. The two locations are completely different markets.

Anybody hear of any retail tenants going into this retail space? So far all I can find is Greenspot going into the Northernmost spot and a ladies shoe store from Saskatoon called Swank is opening a second location.

No national tenants early on, as in nobody would take a chance on that location? Local businesses are great but it seems crazy to me that national retailers would ignore that space with the resurgence of Canadian city centres. I guess downtown Regina still has a long way to go but it sure would be nice to see something with a decent profile bring some early life to that strip. It's such nice, new space.
