Honestly though, if our main complaint about a building is that we want more of it, it's a pretty good sign.
Also keep in mind that this
is a really visible location being on the corner of the park. Anyone driving west on 6th ave, walking from the Beltline on 5th st, or catching the c-train from the Core is going to get to feast their eyes. There's something about the Paskapoo sandstone of the old courthouse, spritely green crabapple trees, and soaring glass that reflects our endless blue sky that is
soo Calgary. There's something very
cirrus about 707.
I think I know where craner and TallBob stand, but I wonder what would be better: absorbing 75 floors of floorspace demand in a single building, or getting 2-3 unique 20-30 story buildings of this quality in different locations around Downtown. For instance, would you trade 707, the office portion of the new Eau Claire project, and Kahanoff for a 75-story 707 and two parking lots?
