Article says the First Nations were cut off due to the aqueduct construction. Pretty sure there was no road in there in 1915 era. Trans-Canada Highway wasn't in the area until what, the 60's?

When they say cut off its due to the Falcon River diversion that cut off land crossing from the reserve.

I sometimes wonder if would be less costly if the city resumed Passenger / freight service on the GWWD and just built a shorter road to a station on the nearby rail line.

So they cut off land access to the middle of the bush. Which is no where near any roads. Built them a bridge across the cut and that should be the same, no? And actually, there's a dike there already. So they do have access. Liars! haha

Looking at the map here. There's a road that comes in off Hwy 16, road 673, in Ontario. Comes right down to the lake. They should be able to figure something out cheaper than $50M.

an ACROW panel bridge is being built across the cut (Total performance Jul 31/16) and I think there has to be a second bridge built over the aqueduct it self.

Apparently 673 is owned in part by a different band and there are "issues" with its use.

I saw a demolition crew tearing down an old 2.5 storey house just west of the Orle Davidson Giesbrecht law office at SW Donald and Stradbrook. Anyone know what's going in there? Given the location I'm assuming it's likely a small condo project, but there are so many I've lost track of what's going where.
