AC to fly more Q400s from YYC to YYJ, YLW, PDX and SEA.

YYC-PDX both daily flights will be on DH4s
YYC-SEA will be one daily DH4 and one daily CRA
YYC-YYJ is being increased to 4 daily DH4s
YYC-YLW will see 2 DH4s on the 4 daily flights - other 2 are DH3s
YYC-YXE is being reduced to 4 daily but still all DH4s
YYC-YEG being reduced to only 12 daily - 8 DH4s and 4 DH3s pretty big decrease in seats compared to summer 2015
YYC-YMM to be all DH4s on the 5 daily flights. This is still one fewer flight than last summer with the daily CRA withdrawn.
YYC-YQU still at 4 daily - 1 DH4 and 3 DH3s

Looks like the Q400 capacity is coming from YEG....effective 1 May

YEG-YMM reduced to 4 daily DH3s only - that's a really big chop
YEG-YQU reduced to 3 daily DH3s only - another sizeable chop

Those two routes were originally scheduled to be DH4s. The axe just keeps wielding on northern routes.

We are heading to Europe for a summer trip. Trying to find a good deal on a flight was very challenging. The exchange rate to the Euro is not that bad.

Flying Edelweiss Air, one stop in Zurich gets you to Santorini. Then flying home from Valencia Spain, again one stop in Zurich. $1400 per person including the taxes. Not a bad deal for July, but considering the economy and all the recent flights that have been added I was hoping for better.

Take a look at flights to London during July and August. The price is very expensive. And that is with AC, BA, Transat, Westjet all flying there in the summer. Best deal I could find is $1100 on AC direct to London.

Hey Johnny i am surprised that there wouldn't be more funneling of flights from YEG through YYC. Do you have the breakdown of flights on YEG-YYC for 2015 and 2016 to compare on WS and AC? Or the decrease for both carriers i assume?

AC was about 15 daily last summer and WS about 11 daily so each down about 2-3 per day.

I think it's also a factor of less O&D travel too. Plus YYC is still holding up with capacity to the farther north such as YQU, YMM and YZF so I expect AC and WS will be funnelling more traffic through YYC than YEG from those places.

I've heard there is a major issue with the roof grade on the expansion and that possibly all of it has to be redone.

Something about the rain water wont collect as planned.

Sorry I dont post here much. I heard it from a couple of people I know that work at YYC. They dont work for CAA but are close enough that I would consider it reliable.

Maybe YYCEngineer? I think it is can chime in or maybe its a hush hush thing?

One seat to downtown LRT? I bet never. But one transfer? I'd bet right around the time the Stephen Avenue subway is built.

Probably built by the same overpaid local trades who couldn't figure out the imperial to metric conversions when building the Bow's floor plates.

I think they should build the NCLRT such that a spur to the Airport at Beddington is possible. That way we could potentially one day have a direct connection from YYC to Eau Claire, Stephen Ave, Vic Park, Stampede Park, and everywhere else the Green line goes. I would route it right from Harvest Hills and Beddington to the area beside pick-up D at YYC, right through airport land.

not until the north part of the green line opens, there will probably be a east west line connecting the NE blue line and the North Central green line

Yup! Or the pedestrian bridge over Shaganappi that didn't fit.

If there is one reason why I'd like there to be a full free trade agreement with China and an open gate for foreign workers, is to bring our incompetent and over-priced trades back to reality. And same goes for bar and restaurant staff who make it hand over fist on ridiculous tips.

Interesting.

I was hoping they would start with a huge seat sale IE all-in return under $1K, but I've not seen anything like that. Perhaps they might do that in fall, after the prime summer season is over?

The A332 represents 21 more seats per week in Economy (business class same size as the 787-8).

I'd love to see a sale like that suburbia. China still on my list of places to get to.
