Has anyone been by the Thom Bargen location on Kennedy/Graham; does the exterior look good?

It's not open yet, or at least it wasn't open yesterday. It looks very good. Not a prizewinner or anything, but a vast improvement over what was on that spot before. Very modern minimalist.

Looks like the skywalk goes through City Place,, to funnel people past the Shark Club.

True North Square? It would almost be an extension of the Graham Ave skywalk, which runs on the second floor of all the south side buildings. And yes, would conveniently funnel right past Shark Club.

Something like that or a foot doctor.

Yeah in my head it was an orthopedic shoe thing. Or a wig shop.

^ Yeah, some kind of not-quite-a-doctor's-office thing is up there. I'm guessing it'll be kind of weird to occupy this lonely space in the corner of the building, but they'd probably be reluctant to move given that they have a fully functional clinic.

Also notice the sidewalk scaffolding/head protection (?) around MTS Place yesterday. Are they doing renovations?

Recladding it would do wonders for the area. It is another Artis REIT building, so perhaps. This is one of the worst clusters, beige, beige, beige...

Beatlands, that reminds me of how it was the site of a rare for Winnipeg high rise fire.

I would love to see a recladding of 360 Main St. Also the adjoining soon to be vacated Scotia bank. Another awful look is The Radisson. I am not sure if they can reclad it but those would aid the skyline appearance greatly.

Scotiabank is retaining their office at P&M.

360 Main is getting recladded. Announcement in March.

The Radisson is an eyesore to say the least. Even painting it would go a long way in brightening up the area.

I couldn't disagree more. There is no way that you could paint the Radisson that wouldn't make it look like an absolute joke.

They should have painted the awnings lime green to match their business. The red is ridiculous, especially since they kept the green/teal glass behind them. Some dramatic/funky lighting would do it wonders.

I know we've discussed this before, but it really looked obvious to me the other day that we seriously need to start lighting up our big buildings. Driving over the Donald bridge at night it becomes so apparent, everything is dark and dull and lifeless. The couple buildings that have added lighting in the last year or two make a big difference and look great, but also make the other ones look dreadful.

Did anyone go to State of the City today? Any tidbits about other possible new developments mentioned? Any awkward Bowman-Chipman moments?
