It's the ugliest house in east Regina.

Are you positive its a house? It almost looks like a religious shrine of some type with those doors and entry and the thing on the roof.

I think that's fairly realistic new build budget. It's in line with the some of the larger Harbour Landing builds if you don't include land price.

$370k for the purchase, $30k for demo and $600k for the new build puts them at a $1,000,000 property.

Although all the $400K lots in the new areas have $2million+ homes built on them.

Yes, it is a multi-generational home. I know someone who did an estimate for some work on the house.

Thanks Dan0myte! I love that there is a hotel on each side of the intersection and I also love that the Fairfield wraps around to the Parliament side heading east. I wish it was 5 floors instead of 4 tho ;p

Saskatchewan's two biggest cities continue to grow faster than other urban areas across Canada, Statistics Canada says.

A report from the federal agency this week says that between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015, Canada's census metropolitan areas (CMAs) grew by 1.2 per cent.

However, Saskatoon's CMA population grew 2 per cent, while Regina's was close behind at 1.9 per cent.

The two Saskatchewan cities were among a number of Western Canadian communities seeing stronger-than-average growth.

Kelowna was the fastest-growing, with a 3.1 per cent increase, followed by Calgary and Edmonton (both 2.4 per cent).

Over the year in question, the Regina CMA grew by 4,427 to 241,422, StatsCan says.

Saskatoon's CMA grew by 6,043 to 304,975.

CMAs include the city proper and surrounding areas. The Regina CMA, for includes such communities as Lumsden, Pilot Butte and Regina Beach.

Saskatoon's CMA includes such communities as Martensville and Warman.

If Moose Jaw was included, then the radius of Regina's CMA would grow overall in all directions. At present, Saskatoon's CMA is approximately 5200 sq km, whereas Regina's is approximately 3400 sq km. That needs to be considered.

I thought I posted a hotel construction update. But I guess I did not. The four points and the Marriott Residence Inn should be open in the next weeks. Both of these hotels are on Dewdeney Avenue. Near Mosaic Stadium. The hotel on pasqua north is open. The Fairfield is to open this fall. There are four floors of the hotel Saskatchewan closed for major renovations.

I'd be stunned if the Fairfield actually opens this fall. Hotel openings always seem to get pushed back. At least there's a sign there now.

Also I see a hotel is part of the site plan for Capital Crossing at Rochdale and Argyle.

I noticed driving past the Four Points on Friday night that the bar/offsale in the hotel was now open.
