River bank stabilization. I believe it was suppose to be been started two years ago but didn't go through for some reason and was deferred to the 2015 budget year.

S&J Construction won the contract for a cost of over $760,000.

Hopefully it gets rid of another surface lot.

^ Looks like the love child of the Pompidou and the Public Safety Building

Are we to guess that RRC is planning to get its hands on the PSB? That would be fantastic, but now does not look like a very promising time for big capital projects that aren't already in the pipeline somehow...

Not so sure about the building but I am pretty sure it is on William or Bannatyne avenue.

I know it's a blurry image but is it just me or does that a picture of the old Winnipeg Arena after it was renovated?

Don't get me wrong, another project of this scope in the Exchange is great news.

Looks like the Scott Fruit Company Warehouse at 319 Elgin to me. Just to the north of the downtown campus. If that's the case, this plan would involve the demolition of the old Metro Motors on Elgin and could also eat up the surface parking lot just west of Metro.

The rendering looks interesting despite the lack of details. That would be a great addition to the area.

Wow, that is frustrating. I hate the fact that there could be millions spent on a new building and it will for all intents and purposes be invisible from Princess St.

^^^RRC put out a RFP for Feasibility Study last summer for the redevelopment of the buildings at 319 - 325 Elgin Ave. I assume that's a conceptual render of what could be.

Yeah looks to be on Elgin. Maybe the new build will stretch overtop the existing red brick building, and include the lot along Princess (to the right, outside of the image they showed).

With the Feds willing to spend infrastructure money, I'd say this is the perfect time.

It would have to be fed-driven because the province won't have much dough left after the last round of announcements, and our potential government in waiting probably will not be the least bit interested in spending money on a postsec capital project downtown.

The potential...

The area between here and the new Bag Lofts is ripe for clustering new residential developments.

206 - 210 and 216 Princess: does anyone know who owns the buildings? Hopefully they see redevelopment soon.
