I would expect that the banner the hotel flies is aligned with the NHL preferred property to maximize keeping the NHL dollars in the family. I would be surprised if it didn't go so far as to have a favourable out clause for Longboat timed to when the NHL hotel agreement expires in case the banner changes so that TNS could flip banners if needed.
The Longboat/Chipman game play seems to heavily play from grabbing as many of the NHL associated dollars as possible. Whether it be from parking, to restaurants to where the visiting team stays. It is a smart business move but at the same time frustrating to see tax dollars going to help make it happen.
