Finally. I have been patiently waiting to see what's up here; since the closing of the auto shop, the demo, and especially since they have been turning the remaining building into what certainly seems to be a sales centre. Disappointing: a crappy rendering style and a questionable design. When architecture firms produce renderings of the quality of this, they usually aren't any better with the detailing of their designs. Could be worse. But, please don't tell me that starry circle thing is anything more than a graphic prop. Yikes!
Now that I give it a bit of thought, given the skytrain alignment there, and that this will be a visual gateway to the new high density station area, this triangle lot deserves a slightly more interesting (iconic may be asking a bit too much) building.
Magusta is a local developer trying to make the transition from low rise, mostly wood construction, to highrise projects. The quality of their work is not the best. They have done a lot of scary 3-4 story large suburban complexes surrounded by mostly useless green space, all of which they tout to be good urban design.
