Bastion came to mind, too.

Wow Squamish is back! That area seemed to have been slow ever since the 08 crash.

Large indoor water park chain considers location in Squamish

http://www.news1130.com/2015/11/12/large-indoor-water-park-chain-considers-location-in-squamish/

The Great Wolf Lodge, which has water-park-oriented resorts across the US, could locate in Squamish.

Sea to Sky corridor could be the newest location for high-profile US resort.

That would be very cool. I can imagine lots of people making the trip. How long does it take to drive from North Van to Squamish on the upgraded Sea to Sky?

^Nah it's shorter than that, no? I'd say closer to 45 mins. Although I guess it depends on traffic.

Anyway, here's a small update on RiverSky. Taken by me, this afternoon:

Looks like those two towers that were supposed to be built by Onni at Fremont have been cut back. According to POCO council minutes from October 26th they're now wanting to "construct two, 6-storey apartment buildings with a total of 294 one and two-bedroom units, replacing the formerly proposed concept of a highrise development." They've gone to council looking to cut back the number of parking spaces associated with the development. The presentation centre is being worked on and on their website the development is "coming soon."

FYI Caliplanner Marine Gateway has it's own thread here: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=141924&page=50

It is coming together nicely. Some of the shops are already open. The condos are ready for occupancy. I'll be moving to Marine Gateway next month and will be sure to give a photo tour after I've settled in.

So it's finally under construction. You can see rebar poking above the rooftops from the SkyTrain. Interesting that they started construction before marketing began. Sales have been swift for the rest of the community so I suspect they aren't too worried.
This one is moving fast. Looks like they're currently working on the fifth floor already.

Interesting that the residential component has been scaled-down again.

Onni pulled one of the most disgusting bait-and-switches I've ever seen in getting the rezoning. They secured approval for 3 floors of residential above all non-Walmart commercial space, circulated renderings showing a Whistler or Newport Village styled mixed-use community, then subsequently deleted all the residential components except for the two stand-alone towers.

For 3355 North Road -
This list shows it on Page 2 - 60,000 sq ft of retail available approx. Summer 2019.

http://www.onni.com/images/content/availability/Onni_Retail_Availabilities.pdf

That sounds like a bigger project than what Adera was proposing.

They're proceeding ridiculously slow even on the retail components. I guess they're not having much luck leasing this complex out.

Nice find! I'd love to see renders of this - hopefully they'll come out soon. It's an odd site on a steep hill. Currently there are two 'faces' for the complex and they do not connect very well.

That complex is doing fine and will do exceptionally well moving forward. Its a complete shopping district with everything one would need and a fantastic amenity for the area.

People forget that the Burke mountain development is ongoing, and will continue for another two decades. Onni is in no rush and they have all the time in the world to slow or speed up this project as needed based on the outcome of the Burke mountain development. Eventually Onni will complete everything and the place will only get busier and busier as more and more people move to that quadrant of the city.

I like what has gone into it, but it's half empty. Each new building they put up stays that way, and it takes them MONTHS to put up relatively simple buildings. Plus the parking situation is a mess - handicap parking is missing in many spots, for instance.

Oh that reminds me... There is a proposal for a 23-storey tower at 509-513 Clarke Road in Burquitlam. That's the triangular lot between North Road, Clarke Road, and Smith Avenue, right where North Road becomes Clarke. I've never heard of the developer - Magusta Development.

Anyway, here's a render:
