The post you quoted is referring to their 767.
Their 737s are 600, 700, 800.

YYC-CUN is already pushing it for a 737-300, much less YYC-OGG

Air Canada has a 789 heading our way from YYZ, I do believe this will be the first time this type has come to YYC:

Air Transat's 737-300 experiment (on Canadian North) YYC-CUN stopped in Kansas City last week. Presumably to fuel up. Made it direct this week. I'm on it at the end of the month, wonder if I will get to check out a new airport on the way home?

I would recommend that your party not use YYC coat check if diversions are likely. I don't use coat check for this reason. Its better to have winter coat that can handle US MidWest weather if you have to deplane.

Yeah I'm quoting myself but whatever. Got a nice look at her doing an overshoot on 17L due to "an unstable approach" plus they were on the wrong tower frequency. Watched her taxi by over the bridge after landing, fantastic looking bird. Love the proportions on the 787-9.

Coat check? I didn't know this was an option! I thought that, since 9/11, coat and/or bag storage in airports went the way of the dodo bird!

AA is canning PHX-YYC/YEG in a few months. Could be seasonal.

Looks like this one may be permanent. Perhaps AA will work out a codeshare with Westjet instead.

AA.com is showing YEG-PHX ramping up again Nov 3 but I cannot see any YYC-PHX after the cut on June 1st.

I expect this decrease is the first signs of PHX dehub in favour of DFW. AA has a well worn path for dehubing airports, The path was paved by UA @CLE and DL at MEM and others. The path is to guarantee service will remain during the merger, then drop flights at the first opportunity where the merged airline will not get blamed. In this instance AA has Alberta economy and low Canadian dollar to use as excuses to cut PHX service.

If that were true they wouldn't be resuming YEG.

Air Canada rouge does not fly YEG-PHX, it does fly YYC-PHX. AA likely does not favour the competition on the route.

Winter 2016/17 is a long ways away from being finalized. AA axed YYC-PHX to prop up DFW, but there was no corresponding YEG-DFW operation to link with or have computer modelling to support the effects of transferring traffic to DFW from PHX. As the winter schedule gets finalized, the schedulers will take a look at route profitability with orders to "cut, cut, cut", YEG-PHX will not return.
