I know it's not in Canada but I'm currently on a business trip in Singapore.
Decided to bust out the Fuji X100T and stitch together a panorama.

Considering that Singapore, usually ranks within the top 5-10 skylines on the planet and 5 to 10 places ahead of Toronto, this shot doesn't do it justice. When I first opened the page I thought it looked like Toronto from Don't Mills - Eglinton - Wynford.

Hamilton would be so much better if at the top of the escarpment there were no burbs only forest. Love your city, it's great to watch the true downtown old city come back to life.

Yeah, one can see Mount Rainier from North Shore Mountains if the weather is very clear, like it apparently was when the photo was taken. I have never seen it with my own eyes and it is extremely far away.

One can see Mount Rainier quite easily upon take off from YVR and even Mount Saint Helens and Mount Adams can be seen in the distance, although they are more than 300km away. They are just so tall and prominent peaks.

It's mostly post-war, though there's relatively few culd-de-sacs. Concession St. (in the foreground here) is the main urban bit, but parts of Upper James and Upper Wentworth are reasonably urban. The main streets maintain a fairly solid grid skeleton that the rest was built on, and at some of those intersections there's a decent amount of commercial stuff. It honestly wouldn't take too much effort to seriously improve the urban form of the mountain if folks got the political will.

Just for interest's sake, in Hamilton the term "uptown" isn't used for the city above the escarpment, but rather, "the mountain." It is completely widespread and conventional in the city, but invariably inspires amusement in visitors, especially if they're from somewhere with real mountains.

A long time ago Hamilton was known as the "Ambitious City." Calling the flat tabletop above the Niagara Escarpment a mountain fits right in with that municipal ethos of a bygone era.
