Yep. It's that patch of land next to SH45.

Yeah, I was surprised to see for sale condos and not apartments, a good thing in my book if they have the market for it. Now I'm wondering if it would be a good time to punch 9th street through to meet the IH-35 frontage.

It'll likely get reconnected if I-35's main lanes are ever reconstructed to be depressed (which is pretty likely I think at this point), along with 3rd, 4th, and 5th. 2nd and 10th streets are probably the least likely re-connections of the true downtown streets.

It'd be really great if they reconnected Lambie which would really activate and work well with the RBJ redevelopment and Rainey's continued expansion and densification.

Connecting Willow to Driskill would also be smart as a traffic reliever for Cesar Chavez (by allowing another entrance point to the Rainey Street area).

As a transportation person I'm for more options and more connectivity. Seems like there should almost be a systematic reevalution of DT streets in light of impending development and roadway changes.

This is going to be northwest of the Emerson complex.

Tonight, I walked by the office of Nelsen Partners on Congress Ave and noticed they have two renderings of a building proposed for 7th and Colorado. It looks to be over 600 feet tall and a nice design. Their website doesn't have anything about this building.

^ Wow! Sweet find! Hard to tell what type of tower this will be, I'm going to guess either office or hotel.

Edit: quoted to pull this over to the next page.

Excellent find. At a quick glance, this looks like it could be Block 71. UT was supposed to pick a developer by the end of the year.

Very nice. I would guess it's about 670 feet judging from those. I like that they're planning on keeping the Claudia-Taylor Hall and the adjacent plaza.

Nice.... So I'm taking it that this tower is planned right in front of the new UT System HQ's?

South of it, yes. You can see it represented in the first rendering above behind the new tower.

I'm throttling my hopes about this one since it is probably just one of several vision projects that UT has to select from.

It will be nice to see some height farther north of the river.

Thanks Kevin. Yeah it was kind of hard to tell where exactly the tower was placed since the renderings aren't as detailed.

I got my fingers crossed ATX. My biggest fear is that they might scale it down at the last minute.

We can only hope that something this magnificent would ever be built in this city. All the desire we've had pent up on this forum for something curved would FINALLY be satisfied.

Its location is excellent. It's on high ground and away from the other downtown peaks, so it would add a third (after Austonian and the Independent).

I'd add Waller Park Place to that list.
