Same here! Considering half my family is here and the other half is in HK, I will wet myself if this flight gets announced, not having to go through YVR anymore, and especially with CX's superb service. But if we do get it, it'll still be quite a significant amount of years before we can see it, even after the International Terminal opens.

Lots. Tenant space (Restaurant & Retail) construction starts in January, while base building progresses alongside. All construction work is scheduled to be completed by mid-Spring then testing and commissioning of the building prior to official opening.

Gonna be a crazy few months. I'll try to get an update out in the next couple weeks.

When should we expect some clarity on Hainan's direct flights between YYC and China that are slated to begin June 2016?

All real better believe it

With Christmas coming up in a couple of weeks, then Chinese New Year in rolling in end of January and early February, I doubt we'll hear anything about this until the spring. Though apparently they have a reputation of applying for routes just for the rights.

I also heard something about Thompson airlines to YYC but I'm guessing that not true

Do you mean Thomas Cook? Rumour was 787 flights this winter for European skiers, didn't happen.

The Airport has put together a blog highlighting progress and updates for the International Terminal.

Also will have information on volunteering for passenger trials prior to opening (sign me up!)

Is the American Airlines MD-83 on the YYC - DFW route a regular thing now?

May 7-June 3
July 27-August 15

Nice little surprise.

Nice little surprise.
Rumours of BA's trouble with this route have been ongoing since their perceived downgrade from 5 weekly 777 service to daily 767 (not much of a downgrade in my estimation). With the uptick to 789 service I think we can finally put those rumours to bed .

That doesn't surprise me considering the around $2000 more expensive to fly to London with

Yup, UAL 949 operating LHR-SFO diverted here for a medical reason apparently.

AA will retire the MD80s in 2 years. Less than 100 left in the fleet. That's a quarter of what they used to have when they merged with TWA.

Enjoy it while you can.

The BA 789 is only 2 seats more than 788. The difference is in 789 F cabin and larger J cabin. There are less economy seats on the 789 than on 788.

All true, but I love the proportions on the 789, we're getting spoiled by having so many being planned for us.

Is there any way BA is actually seeing demand for F to YYC? Seems crazy to be putting the 789 on for just a slightly larger J and less economy seats.
