Whole Foods being there for X number of years has done nothing to harm this area, but the fact that Target is taking over the same space is a crisis of epic proportions that merits politicians getting involved to stop a private land owner from finding a tenant in the existing structure. .

No offense but are you implying Whole Foods and Target are the same thing?

The Targets in Philly are breeding grounds of trash. Will this one be? Probably not. Does it have the potential to be? Yep.

And most of you guys think Wendy's attracts the wrong people lol..

Trash? As in people? Or as in literal trash? This board isn't for arguing like this... but come on. BOTH are completely insane arguments. Less trash is likely produced by target than a wholefoods (at least food trash which smells) and the aramingo and collumbus blvd targets are incredibly nice and clean and a MUCH more preferred venture over the incredibly wild walmarts. And if you mean people... thats just plain awful!

Lets not be dumb guys. Its common sense that Whole Foods attracts a different caliber (and higher net worth individual) then Target. That's all they mean. It sucks to have such a world renown art collection egress out to a target...Its just cheap.

I was going to put a disclaimer and say this is the meanest thing I will ever say on here.. However to say the other two are "nice" is relative to each respective area. The one on Columbus is nicer than the strip club across the parking lot and the one on aramingo is uh nice I guess compared to the surroundings.

caliber definition: "the quality of someone's character or the level of someone's ability".

Let's not be asses when talking about low income individuals such as myself.

PLUS...I'm sure the type of people who shop at Wholefoods shop at Target (which is probably the top tier when compared to other similar stores such as Kmart and walmart). There aren't many types of big box stores out there and I doubt every person who shops at Wholefoods buys their underwear and other items at mall stores.

Seriously??? Its a big box store. Its clean. The people working there are nice. The people shopping there are nice. The idea that anyone would think otherwise is ridiculous and your opinions are incredibly classist. I'm happy target is coming here. Its a great replacement and will be a HUGE addition for not just the "sophisticated not-trash people" of fairmount as well as those lower income individuals from Francisville.

We fancy...can't have Target sitting next to the Barnes. The irony is that theft has occurred or will occur at these places. Just curious, what other types of retail business can afford the rent of 30k sq. ft. besides corporate America?

It's not the most ideal building to be right behind the Barnes and an under utilization of the space that it takes up. But it's not the worst example of corporate America plopping itself down in a prime piece of real-estate.

In 15/20 years it'll be like the Best Western that was just torn down to make way for the new Whole Foods.

I must be an enigma. I enjoy shopping at both Whole Foods and Target.

Down for a Target on the ground level of a 15 floor residential high rise. What sucks is that parking lot on the corner that will remaining if this is a long term lease for Target. We all want density and especially this close to CC. Museum towers II, Rodin Square, hopefully the Kimpton taking over the old family court... it would be nice to keep the trend going
