Vasilios Priskos:
A big name that keeps popping up is Vasilios Priskos. I thought that I would do a little bit of research on him and found some interesting stuff. He owns a lot of building and property around town including the old Salt Lake Tribune building. He sits on the chair of the Main Street Comity and is a member of the the down town alliance comity.

On 11-14-13 Vasilios Priskos gave an interview with KCPW. Where he talked about owning Arrow Press square and several building along 100 South. He expressed his opinion that he thought that his property would be a great spot for the Convention Center Hotel. He was then asked what he would do with the property if it was not chosen as the site of the Convention Center Hotel. He said that if another locations was chosen that he would build another 300-500 room hotel on the corner of 100S and West Temple…. but he also said that if the Convention Center hotel was not built that he would not put a second hotel there… So if the convention Center does in fact get built… Regardless of where it goes… There will be a hotel going up on that site… So we will likely be saying goodbye to the wine bar and other businesses along 100 S…

On January 5th Vasillios Priskos gave an interview with X96 where he was discussing the Arrow press square property. He basically said that the building had been altered a lot over the years and it was not feasible to repair it. He also said, and I quote “we’re anxious to go through with the next development that will happen on this corner. hopefully it will be a hotell of some sort, and, and, we’re going down that road, and until that decision gets made. Then we will decide what we want to do here and move forward”. and then he speaks about how the city ordinances prevent them from demolishing the building.
