Asking the real questions. Even a signage reno in the old terminal would make a big difference I think.

That signage looks unique. Don't think I've ever seen anything quite like that in an airport... Excellent design.

Yeah I know about the YXC thing... Thought I would try and stay positive... In this environment anything added is a good thing!

I've been holding back on the negative.... There's been a bit I've noticed lately but refrained from posting

I don't follow route stuff too closely so post away with some bad news. Need to keep appraised of what's going on. It's a bloodbath downtown so we know it's coming.

Random quipe, but does it bother anyone else that Google Maps still haven't updated new taxiways on the map layer? The outline of the new terminal shows, but they have the poor new runway sitting there with no way to get to it...

Air Canada is bringing back service YYC-SFO effective June 16, daily flight operated by a CRJ-705. They last served SFO in 2011.

Wonder if the plane is being pilfered from the (currently) over-served IAH route. Or more probably, it's being shared with the SEA/PDX -705.

Interesting that the press release specifically mentions continued Phoenix service. Weird to single this flight out and reinforce that it will continue to be served, no? Is it at danger of getting the axe? WS flies up to 3X daily + AA daily (2X sometimes?). It's already a lot of seats to PHX and maybe without it being "Rouged" AC is [anticipating] having trouble making it work?

The land between the new runways (east of McCall Way) is part of a glycol processing system and will be a large pond.

AC service is traditionally winter seasonal on YYC-PHX. The continuation means the service will be year round with season capacity adjustments.

Also at some point (probably sumer 2016) look for the new AA to drop YYC-PHX in favour of flowing traffic over YYC-DFW.

UA is down to three daily on the route from four daily last summer. No net increase in seat capacity.

Oh I did not know that. Guess it is good news then! I feel stupid now lol

I hope AA keeps PHX, would not be good if we drop down to 1 destination, and even that at a reduced (1X) frequency in the winter. They already have significantly less service than United and Delta and this would drop them below Alaska.

Also regarding AC SFO service, that is cool I guess, but would have liked to seen that aircraft on YYC-SJC instead. They just announced YVR-SJC so they will be opening a station there and it would have been a nice compliament to UA SFO-YYC.

Funny as it sounds I actually liked visiting San Jose better than San Francisco. (it's warmer and no fog)

Continuation of PHX into the summer thrice weekly is almost as exciting as the new Cranbrook flights!! yee haw!

And yes AA hasn't been very kind to Alberta lately... AA has dropped YYC-PHX to only once daily year-round (they've been slowly pulling that route back) and now YYC-DFW has been dropped to only once daily for most of the winter. And they've pretty much pulled out of YEG except for once daily PHX after they dump the short-lived YEG-DFW route and the recently axed and also short lived YEG-LAX route. Last winter they were 4 daily out of both YYC and YEG. This is a bit of what I've noticed lately.
