Similar to what Toronto is going to do with the underground portion of the Eglington Line. This way, many people would be able to bypass the inevitable clusterfucks that will be caused by having trains in mixed traffic.
Isn't that exactly what's happening? This is the graphic with the article about how the route has been approved

It's the SE stations and route that have been approved. It's clear they're going to be working hard to figure out the 10 Ave S to 16th Ave N segment, but nothing has been approved on the north segment yet.

I hope they skip the Crescent Heights station like it shows on the diagram and build a nice large station at 16th ave.

Am I missing something here? Where is the train in mixed traffic?

No. There will be an Eau Claire station. Council's meeting on Tuesday was to approve four relocations of stations on the SE portion of the leg (Inglewood, Highfield, Ogden, Quarry Park). The central portion and the north portion are still to be decided.

The Green Line map being used in these media stories is a copy of Calgary Transit's Green Line map however on Calgary Transit's map there is an asterisk saying that certain centre city stations are not depicted. Obviously that part has been dropped in the version used by the press.

There has been no decision made yet about the Crescent Heights station as the public consultation for the centre city alignments hasn't even begun yet. There are also stations for Eau Claire and 2nd Street/10th Ave SW that will be built and yet don't show up on the press version of the Green Line map either. No need to panic!

I get the challenges (and expense) of a Crescent Heights station, but man it would be irritating to have to walk to a bus stop and take a bus downtown to catch the LRT that goes under your house.

When you think about the complications of building and transiting down to a deep station in Crescent Heights, plus the extra two minutes (1 min each way) a stop would add to every commuter's day from points north, vs the inconvenience imposed on local residents having to walk north or south to a station, I think on balance dropping the Crescent Heights station makes a good deal of sense.
The benefits of a non stop line that quickly moves people from 16 Av N into the core should not be minimized.

I personally am still on the bridge and tunnel option. That way the 9th avenue station is not that deep at all, and we don't have to tunnel all the way under the river.

I think this is the best option as well. The train will still be underground in the important busy parts of downtown and not interact with traffic when it surfaces and before it crosses the river. If they do it right, we could get cool looking new bridge that portals into the hillside.

^That would be cool.
As long as it's in a tunnel downtown I'm good with it.

I agree with this as well.

Thinking ahead with the amount of redevelopment in Crescent Heights and on Centre St in the long term, there will be an increase in density .. Having the proper infrastructure helps that out. And underground station helps relieve traffic concerns and a station in Crescent Heights can help reduce the number of vehicles in the area as renters (and some owners) may not feel the need for a car if they're close to the train.

They should build a zip line from Crescent Heights to Eu Claire, so at least one direction to get to an LRT station is quick.....or, Urban Gondola! But also a zip line.

That would certainly be much faster than going 180' underground to get to the station, as some on this forum are advocating for!

Uhm, the entire northern section north of 16th. It's basically a streetcar after that from what I understand. So a good 15 kilometers of it.
