My memory might be foggy, but did the prior concept not have more "towers"?

^^ ^The original project had as many as 5 towers, actually. I like the newest renders a lot better than this original rendering below - the original sure looks like a Mexican resort!

I'm wondering if they're taking a phased approach? Since they're asking for a zoning change that would allow 500+ units. The podium on the left in the render looks like it's prepped for a tower core to go up, perhaps. Hope that's the case anyway, but I like the look of what we're seeing!

It's really hard to tell, but I assume the green area north of the project is for future phases.

That seems like an underhanded way to sell the new project to the surrounding community, and usually I'm pretty supportive of developers.

Man up and open the kimono! (that's a pretty messed-up mash-up of metaphors, I must admit)

The interior courtyard is miles ahead of the clapboard/siding exterior fronts, exactly why?

Perhaps making it look cheap on the outside is a way to hide how much this damn thing will cost.

@ Peter Lougheed Hall - Sad how the U of A demolished those nice historic homes to build another bland academic building.

Quick to judge aren't we. If its anything like the City's new recreation centres I don't expect it to be institutional by any means.

*student residence. And some of those homes were relocated across the street.
