It does boggle that the Stantec office portion of the tower is almost the same height as Bell.

Having a general sense of how pension funds operate, I would hazard you could probably run that fund with just a couple of extra staff on top of their existing body count.

Edmonton passed a new affordable housing strategy Tuesday. Now it just needs the cash.

The city’s plan is to redevelop the aging townhouse and apartment sites scattered throughout its 1970s’ neighbourhoods with a higher density mix of both market and low-income housing. It’s a plan modelled after Toronto’s Regent Park, a projects that is rebuilding more than 2,000 subsidized units and using 5,400 market-rate units to off-set the cost.

A four-building site in Londonderry, whose 80 units have now been deemed unfit for human habitation, is first on the list to be redeveloped as a pilot project. The site is on 72nd Street just north of 144th Avenue...

condemned social housing.....What's going to prevent these new units from being "unfit for human habitation" in another 40 years?

Yah I was a bit miffed when nothing of substance was provided. But I listen to Joe on CBC this morning. I expect we will see funding for a replacement hospital in the Next Budget (Spring of 16). Its going to be at least 5 years before we see a new hospital open. A year for the planning study. then the RFP etc.

I would like to have seen some of the money for correcting design flaws with the Henday. But Calgary's Ring Road gets the bulk of the money.
