Maybe try land titles?

Your best bet is to call a commercial (not residential) realtor, they'll find out. More to the point, however, they'll probably know why it's sitting empty. There's almost always a reason. Or you could just post it here and you'll find out.

The city absolutely will not tell you.

We have seen the typical poor, superficial reporting by local media on the Eastgate Drive fiasco. They are saying the cost to fix the issue will be $1.5 million, but the media is not reporting that this money may be entirely thrown away, unless another use is found for the temporary bridge. From the City Administration report:

Quote:
The costs associated with the implementation of this option is estimated at $1.5 million of which 25 to 35 per cent ($375,000 to $525,000) could be recovered if another usage for this structure is found.
It does not appear that anyone considered the alternative of compensating the affected businesses for 100% of their lost profits (which would likely only be a few $100 thousand). Also there is no information about estimates for the cost of a permanent solution to be looked at next year. Presumably that will cost even more than temporary bridge cost.

Finally, how much less would this have cost if it was done right from the outset. No one asks these questions.

$100M of land bought for Regina bypass, officials say

Officials say 2,000 acres of land (about eight square kilometres) have been acquired for the construction of the Regina bypass.

The land was purchased for a cost of about $100 million. The purchase involved 199 different pieces of land.

There were 104 landowners affected, including 16 homeowners. Roughly one-third of the land was acquired through expropriation.

Currently, the government has ensured it has access to all the land, as needed. Some of the land acquisitions are still going through the expropriation process to determine the final price tag that will be paid.

While formal notice to vacate the land has been given, officials said individuals have the option of working with the project company to work out when they need to leave.

Many of the homes will be demolished, although some buildings could be moved.

The bypass is currently working on land the government does not yet have title to. So I'm not sure how that's working.

Some recent great shots of the stadium:

In the shot below is that the bike path starting to take shape (from downtown to the stadium)?

You're talking about the dark patch of road that looks like fresh asphalt?

I'm thinking no... That's just the road that's always been there... they sometimes oil it, so perhaps that's about when this pic was taken.

I would almost think that the path would run right next to the rail line (where some of the parking is now, or perhaps the city can take over the land on the South side of the rail line and have it next to Sask Drive (though there would be 2 or 3 businesses that would have to move). That stretch always feels run down, and if they are going for a nice pedestrian connection to downtown and a redevelopment of the area, it would be a good place to put it. Wishful thinking though I'm sure.

City had to close the intersection at Vic and Albert last night because the wind had ripped scaffolding away from Viterra.

It points to them re-using old material and not being serious.

When I joined this forum five years ago, I thought fourth tower was some 12 year old kid. Sadly I still do.

I've dealt with 12 year olds and I can say for certain he isn't one of them. Surprisingly, a lot of them act rather civil in comparison.
