While there may have been indications, nothing in the Industry Canada decision appears to bind them to a specific timeline to remain in Regina...

To be fair, the city's concrete budget this year was massive. It just obviously didn't include there.

It would be in Glencore's submissions to Industry Canada which are not public documents. It is tough to say precisely what the commitment is, as the public statements are pretty vague as you have pointed out.

From my own observations, I would suggest that the majority of budget goes to replacing perfectly good corner sidewalks with accessible curbs and sidewalks. I agree that accessibility has to get done, but it is not really maintenance and repairs.

True, the review would qualify as Protected information (not subject to Access to Information).

Not only are the statements vague, the Industry one is wrong - they refer to commitments made in Glencore's July 15, 2012 press release. Glencore's only press release on that day was an announcement that the government had approved the deal. Glencore made commitments in a March 20, 2012 press release. Minor detail, but a fairly obvious error.

I am sure there are many other examples. I know Prince of Wales south was repaved this year and it was in near mint condition. Maybe the managers at in their offices at City Hall should actually go out and look at conditions in the field once in a while.

What we need to do is strategically elect counsellors that already live on poorly-maintained roads so that they will push through their own road's repairs.

Said like someone who has never talked to a manager at the city.

It is more cost effective to repave high traffic locations regularly than to let it fall apart. Budgets exist. The citizen's of Regina continue to reject any notion of a tax increase so we remain in this hole.
