They took 1 million sq ft. They can probably take it all. But will be left to sublease their entire half of The Bow. Ouch.

My understanding is that Brookfield will be quite a bit cheaper than The Bow and it's actually financially prudent of them to move as much staff as they can to BPC.

The Bow is the most expensive real estate in the city (as far as I know)

It's one of the more expensive properties out there, but not the most expensive. The agreement started at $36.00 per sq foot, but increases over time at a rate of something like 1% per year. Most of the Class AA type space is around the $40.00 mark or higher.

So how many floors is this this thing climbing per week (on average)?

Wasn't it said on here that Brookfield will be topped by the end of May next year?

Ah, thanks for clarifying!

We're probably lucky it's going to climb to 56 with the current economy, but I definitely hear ya... especially with our ugly step brother long cocking us with Stantec! lol

Jay, I made this prediction based on the core climbing one floor a week and the steel being not far behind.

I could actually see BP from 11th this morning. Nice to see it popping up in that void. Looking forward to our new tallest.

All is not lost. If only the city amend that block to allow for greater FAR--enough for a 1000-foot west tower and another three storeys of underground parking. Maybe even throw in a 6-storey Nordstroms above that plaza/skating rink.

This building is going to really balance out the skyline. Excited for early next year!
