I was just thinking, that view of One Pacific will start to disappear when the casino rises and for the most part won't be seen from the stadium concourse. It will kind of be the less visible "back side" of the complex.

The casino is going to be well-hidden by OP once they are both complete, at least from the most common views from the Cambie St. bridge and across False Creek.

I'm looking forward to both though. The speed of OP is remarkable compared to the casino, and Civic Plaza in Surrey, which seem to be at a snail's pace.

Yeah, they have to. Their reputation has reached almost rock bottom in recent times, and with a world-class development just right next door, they better step up their game. It would be natural for passersby to make a comparison when they see One Pacific and the new casino building/hotel. I'm sure they changed their glass windows and spandrel colours to darker hues in order to match the Casino building better. The original rendering was of a colour similar to most Concord towers. Perhaps someone working at Concord checks out SSP often and made a last minute revision?

In recent times, there are stronger competitions not only from the traditional reputable developers such as Bosa, Cressey and Westbank, but also newer ones such as Holborn/TA Global and Rize Alliance. Onni, Pinnacle and Concert Properties are also having their reputations on the decline. They either build too many non-inspiring looking expensive condos or cheapen out on quality, all just to meet their bottomline profit margin.

Yah, I think they definitely did a great job on this one compare to the couple buildings around that block.

It also helps that their own Vice President of Sales (Grant Murray) is moving into one of the suite. I've also heard from their sales that their President is keeping the penthouse, which is why it wasn't available for sales.

Which crane came down first? White, Yellow or Blue?

Really? It's not that special building in my opinion and the location is still horrible (noise wise). Perhaps they got a good discount... Where are Concord Pacific headquarters located, by the way?

A client of mine was considering one of the suites overlooking the pools area on a lower floor, I convinced him that those will be some of the darkest and least private suites anywhere and will likely go mostly to tenants.

As the building progresses, living in one of the 'pool view' suites looks pretty awful.

It looks good, but of course it could have been sleeker without the dark floor to ceiling spandrel panels (although they don't pop out like lighter coloured ones do).

I think their head office is located in W. Pender St, but most of them probably working out of the show room building at Pacific Blvd.

Oh I drive by everyday... can't believe I didn't notice the yellow crane gone missing. LOL

Yah I agree with you, this area is going to be pretty noisy some time. I would assume anyone that bought this place would know that and accept this fate.

Looks like they are almost topping up the roof of this place soon. Does anyone have aerial view of this building? I wonder how it looks from a higher angle.
