Yes that's true. But to become insured you need to pay premiums. Which is normally money out of your pocket.

I like this advertisement thats shown in Saskatchewan that shows the two stadiums too..

..kinda sucks that MTS Centre arena thats now a decade old wasn't designed to have unobstructed views from every seat, you would think this day and age an arena wouldn't have problems like that :/

While I don't think there will be any, I browed the 3D View and found a couple sections (ironically, some of the most expensive seats that aren't suites) that might have slight obstructions. Then again, it's a 3D rendering and not the real thing, so no idea if these would actually end up causing an issue.

Someone posted on the Hockey Boards Forum that the seats didn't go from non-obstructed to obstructed... but from obstructed to MORE obstructed.




Either way, TNSE should have gotten in front of this thing early on.

All true north had to do was start from scratch instead of trying to reuse the old railings. if you introduced new obstructions but eliminated old ones you wouldn't have so many unhappy customers

It'll be interesting to see what TNSE does to appease those ticket holders. I hope they do something... it would be the height of arrogance to just tell people that there's a waiting list for STs and if they don't want the seats, somebody else will take them.

why do they have to have steel railings. Just make the entire thing seamless glass. That's what they've done at the upper levels of BMO field.

Xcel Energy Centre has the same problem. The camera bay at centre ice in the lower level jutted out. People sitting next to it would have to lean far forward, to the point of having their chins just above the top of the head of the person in front of them, to see the any action in the corner of the rink. Sometimes even then you couldn't see into the furthest reaches of the corner.

Due to certain safety regulations(height of handrails) there will be some obstructions in all arenas and stadiums. The poorer views at the MTS Centre from the first few rows due to the addition of the loge boxes is a joke though. Some people's veiw of the ice has been severly obstructed with the addition of the railings. Not only that, I also noticed that the loges stick out to the point where you cannot see a portion of the entire length of the ice closest to you.

Agree. I have heard from some folks on the HFboards that the Florida Panthers just have glass with no steel railings surrounding them. This would make a big difference for those obstructed views.

This could be the reason. There was a similar issue with IGF when it was being built where a huge amount of hand railings had to be replaced because they didn't meet Manitoba code.

It's pretty cool how identical the stadium is growing into what the rendering said it would look like.



Also heard this morning that the south video board will be a few feet smaller than the one the Titans use as Nissan stadium. Massive!

ACC new video screen. I believe they are proportional but not sure if the side screens are larger than the end ones? Looks good nonetheless.

I think they're supposed to be proportional. I remember some ACC official say that the reason they didn't go with the current trend of longer scoreboards (ala Tampa, Colorado, etc) was that the fans in the endzones didn't enjoy the same experience as those on the sidelines.
