Walk past 300 North LaSalle a hundred times or more. Probably has something to do with it.
Yes, only referring to what the color will look like. There are lots of other greenish towers, but they don't all have a metallic look to them from different angle or lighting. In the times I've seen Brookside Place in person, it's never looked the same color, it's mostly looked grayish or silvery like. That was the first time for me that it had a greenish look to it.

My point was not to automatically expect a green tower based on one day's photographs.

In the webcam view, there is some sort of scaffolding above the first level of the Hudson's Bay building - could it be that they are starting to at least replace the windows that will soon face the open plaza of Brookfield?

If you actually look at the windows - they should be mortified they let them deteriorate this badly.

Anyone know what they are up to?

Hopefully something. The Bay downtown is embarrassing.

Standard coating produces a lot of reflection at certain angles. Lot of dark coloured facades in Calgary but, there's still a few that should be able to recreate this metallic effect. Brookfield does have a greenish colour to it. I'm just not sure what's so offensive about it.

I have no problem with the greenish look either. I suspect others may be panicking that it will turn out like the Calgary Court house or the TCPL tower east face. I don't think anyone has any reason to panic.

Doesn't all glass have some degree of greenish tinge due to the iron content in glass ?

I gotta wonder of some of the green effect is an illusion due to the green colored construction netting on the building.

That's what I thought too. The only way to avoid it I think is if they tint it with a different colour.

The green probably wouldn't even be noticed had they kept the shadow boxes. The spandrel is a disappointment even if it's a big upgrade from the regular stuff.

I think you're making more of it than there is. Don't believe everything you see in a rendering.

I take it you must have seen tests then? Did the reflection of the glass mostly hide it or something?

Brookfield's core doesn't seem to have risen in a while. The steel framing has almost caught up.
What gives - BC do you know why ?

the core jumps every wednesday, as tuesdays are pour days. I saw them moving forms up on wednesday, they haven't missed a week yet. steel is just going up way faster at about three floors every two weeks, so they have been quickly catching up.

Nothing wrong with the job. Steel erection is just ahead of schedule. Job is actually going exceptionally well. Walters Group, no shock at all.

How many floors/square feet did Cenovus lease in the building? I know they may be locked in for it now but I've got to think there are going to be some empty floors of theirs by the time they take possession.
