Like expected , Cons increasing support as we get closer to election. I expect them to be at 35 on average in about 2-3 weeks.

But is that true? Look at threehundredeight's aggregate weekly averages. I'm not seeing huge movement for the Cons....

Another Conservative candidate bows out. They now have 6 days to find someone else to run under their banner.

Looking at 308, Acadie-Bathurst is solid Orange with a Red tinge; The conservatives aren't even breaking 10%.

Well, between week one and week eight they've gone from 29.6% to a whopping 29.8%. Clearly momentum is on their side, as opposed to the Liberals, who have stagnated between week one (26.8%) and week eight (30.9%).

That's how Conservative math works, right? Or are 308's numbers just a big left-wing lie now that they're on the CBC?

Yep, I'm just a welfare collecting hippy. Would your head explode if you knew I was actually a sales manager?

In the previous debates, I don't think Duceppe ever really focused on the independence issue, favoring more concrete stakes. The new dynamic that's going on within sovereigntist ranks may shuffle the cards, however.
This issue hasn't been on the radar at all in Quebec during the election.

Hypothetically, it could arise out of this debate of course.

And another anti-Harper CBC article:

Quote:
Harper Denies Politicizing Terry Fox Donation Pledge

Under fire for exploiting the legacy of a Canadian hero to score political points, Conservative Leader Stephen Harper said a campaign pledge to support the Terry Fox Foundation was simply honouring a request made by the charity.

The party has been reeling in controversy after federal Industry Minister James Moore, who is not seeking re-election, announced Sunday that a re-elected Conservative government would commit up to $35 million to match donations raised during this year's Terry Fox Run.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canada-election-2015-fox-cancer-conservative-1.3238342
Meanwhile, the next story down on the CBC News home page is about a heroic father on Vancouver Island who saved his daughter from the jaws of a cougar by punching it in the face.

If it had been Harper tackling the cougar, the headline would have been something like:

"Harper Intentionally Injures Rare Endangered Animal in Politically Motivated Rescue Attempt. Cat Subsequently Executed by Harper Political Operatives. Animal Rights Activists Horrified.

This man and his philosophy belong in the 1800's in the sweatshop factories of London. If you think he's generous because of his shows where he 'helps' entrepreneurs you're dafter than I thought. All he's doing is making himself richer. MIGS you frighten me if you are this naive yet you distrust any party that offers to give you a bigger tax break because of past promises broken by Jean Chrétien. But I'm sure you'd trust a Bernie Madoff with all your life savings because 'he works hard and is a successful business man'.

Unfortunately they've decided to run on the left rather than the centre, with proposed economic policy that reads like an afterthought. Thus I'm forced to begrudgingly vote for the status quo.
If your socially liberal and fiscal conservatism makes you resistant to the Liberal plan to run deficits, then wouldn't the NDP platform would be perfect for you considering Mulcair has committed to keeping a balanced budget?

Even if the CBC had some sort of left-wing agenda - they couldn't make this stuff up.

It's just a sleazy move. Even for the Conservatives.

I get it, you hate successful people who like making money & would rather side with those too lazy to get a good education, work hard & make their own way without relying on govt. I have lived under the NDP the majority of my life & I know all about the opportunity of being dependant on govt. It's not my slice, I teach my boys to work for everything they get & expect nothing for free.

I do believe this is what's known as a "strawman argument". Do you teach your boys about logical fallacies too?

If I was a betting man I would have to say that I think the real battle for a win is between the Conservatives and the Liberals. I also think they are the ones who will also be most likely to finish third.

The NDP support, especially in Quebec and BC is strong and I don't see that going anywhere. Few of any of their seats there are up for grabs and for BC the real battle will be between the Liberals and NDP. They have little room to grow in Atlantic Canada but their seats there seem secure for the most part and Harper will be lucky to only lose 10 seats in the riding.

As always Ontario will be who ultimately decides who wins or loses. You simply can't form government without doing well in the province. It's simple math..........Ontario has 121 of the 331 seats. The NDP's problem is that they have slowly but surely lost support in the province from the day the writ was dropped. Yes, polls go up and down and never say never but they don't seem to be recovering from any of their loses............Ontarians are heading back to their standard Liberal voting patterns.

The NDP and Mulcair have simply not managed to make a real break thru in the province and with policies now out and people having gotten a "feel" for all the leaders there is no reason to think that he will recover those losses. He and his party simply hasn't resonated with the population.

This is VERY good news for the Liberals and VERY bad news for the Tories.

Yep those child laborers are a bunch of lazy pinko commies! If only they'd pull themselves up by the bootstraps they'd have no problem becoming billionaires like Kevin O'Leary.

Your black and white simplification of things would be stupid and pathetic if it weren't so terribly sad. Don't worry Migs, papa Harper will keep you safe from ISIS and lazy socialists and education. Safe and stupid.
