OMG Cira II! Wouldn't that be amazing!? I thought I saw very early renderings from back in the day that had that building taller that 725'. Though I could be misremembering that.

On another note: Does anyone know of a map that shows where all of the new proposed developments in Camden are slated to be built?

..... Another shattered dream ??

Ummm , at first read , WOW .
And to answer another's question , why not taller than 725' ?
But then reality .......... Summers , you fantastic informer , I hope you are right and this is not just another case of smoke and mirrors .

I have witnessed the rise and fall of some other " This changes everything " pie in the sky proposals that brought me up , than pissed me off . i.e., Bridegman's View Tower that started out at 915' than shrunk to 749' than just disappeared .

Then there was , 17th. & Vine @ 890' and City Center Tower @ 1050' and I hate to mention
that giant monstrosity ACC @ 1510' ............... So thank you for wishful thinking but I'll
believe it when I see it ......... PS , it's a beautiful model .

Yeah, we need it. I try and avoid getting into these discussions to avoid derailing these forums. But sometimes I can't help myself. I would post more on these important but more tangential development issues if there was a dedicated space for it.

I would have no objections to mods moving future tax related posts so that we can keep the focus on buildings here.

Thanks for posting that picture boxbot. What a depressing loss. Why did they decide to demo it at the last minute? It's not like it freed up room for the convention center to be larger since the design was already set.
Sweet that we have that thread! A far as more important things...Cira II, woot!!

Doesn't that illustration put the new building where there are currently the roads to get around the station? That would be literally where 30th Street is as in the road. It would also FUBAR the traffic around the building including all the taxis, the Amtrak parking garage, the I-76 off ramp into West Philly/UC, and they would be tearing up the 6-7 digits of concrete they just poured to re-do that whole area LOL.

That all seems to make the project a royal pain in the ass when the building could be put a block to the West on Drexel's land for a fraction of the hassle?

Cheers,
G.

That's wild - Cira II.

So Brandywine is definitely going heavy into commercial side across the river, ...leads me to believe the recent buys on Market West will be residential then. Hoping we get a 500 footer on Market West as well.

Anyways - great, great news.

Ooooooo! And didn't Brandywine say something about doing a 1000 footer someday too? Suppose they won't be adding the extra height to this one, but that could be coming next time! Right?

I don't think so. This looks like it is situated over the tiny scrap of rail yards on the NW corner of JFK & 30th and/or the parking lot directly behind it.

Yeah, that's more apparent in THIS rendering posted by summers:

Definitely great news. I don't mind a nice residential neighborhood developing on Market and surrounding name streets here. From 1919 Market up to 24th. A nice little walk across the river to your job in University City or the other direction to offices in Center City. Agree on a 500 footer! Something new and tall between 1919 Market and the river would really fill some nice holes in the skyline.

I wonder if a 2nd circa can land a large enough tenant...FMC still has lots of space available, more than 200,000 sq feet...unfortunately midwest is still lagging behind the rest of the country, a 2nd Circa with 700+ feet height will at least have 1million sq feet+ to fill

Hey, Summers. What's the factual basis for this? I've been corresponding with Mark Vergnano and others at Chemours about relocating here. I would send something along if there's something other than renders I can send (though I'm sure they already know; I think they are in discussions with the administration and developers at all of the areas they are looking at).

30th and JFK. Built over the train tracks directly across 30th Street from the Station. They won't be removing any roads.

Philadelphia is in the Northeast, not the Midwest.

This is the same developer as the one building FMC tower. I doubt they would move ahead with another tower if they didn't have something in the pipeline. FMC still has about 250,000 square feet of office space available, which is not much. University City, which is where these towers are located, has the lowest vacancy rate of the entire Philadelphia metro area. The vacancy in University City right now is about 2%. FMC is 49 floors and 730 feet and is a total square footage of 850,000 sq feet. Why would Cira II at 48 floors and 725 feet be 1 mill +? Cira II would likely be aorund 700,000-800,000 square feet. 1 mill+ is something 850-900 feet + tall.
