Nothing has been officially released as of now, however there is much speculation that Harwood International is serious about this.

Furthermore, the renderings you see were quickly taken down after being "leaked" online.

As of now it's a waiting game for Harwood to finalize plans...however, this crucial step could take months.

The twin towers looks so awesome, Marina Sands Bay style with the convergent pool in the middle. I like this development and it will be incredible for DAL to get this.

If anyone knows, how will Harwood finance this? Do they have the means to do this? We don't need any repeats of the Garrett Keller Chicago Spire case IMO.

A lot of people are wondering if Harwood is a legit developer. Harwood is not new to Dallas, they have been building for decades. They have their own district in Uptown Dallas. This is why everyone is taking their Forum project serious. I'm sure they wouldn't have a hard time financing it. The real question is if they will wait for a lead tenant or hotel brand, it all depends on the details so we shall wait. Here are just a few projects they have developed or U/C:

Thanks for clarifying that dollaztx, Harwood does have a very good track record in terms of the projects that they announce and odds are this is a very real development.

Quote:
Developers are launching construction of the largest new real estate project yet in Dallas’ Deep Ellum neighborhood.

Investor Westdale Properties andStreetLights Residential plan to build a 17-story apartment tower just south of Baylor Medical Center.

Called The Case Building, the 337-unit tower at Main and Hall streets will be the first high-rise apartment in Deep Ellum.
Quote:
To fit into the old commercial district, the new apartment tower will be built in what the developers call an “industrial style.” Rental units will have 10-foot concrete ceilings, exposed brick walls and open metal shelving in the kitchens.

^ Nice! Those should have pretty amazing views of the downtown and uptown skylines.

CoreLogic report: Dallas still tops for home price gains
Steve Brown, Published September 1, 2015, Dallas Morning News

The Dallas area is hanging onto its perch at the top of the list of U.S. cities with the largest home price gains.

Dallas-area home prices in July rose at a greater pace than the nationwide average according to the latest report from CoreLogic Inc.

Home prices in Dallas were up 9.3 percent from July 2014 levels. U.S. prices rose 6.9 percent in the same period.
....

North Texas home prices have been growing at more than twice long-term average rates throughout 2015.

Economists credit the area’s booming population and tight housing supplies with creating the dramatic price inflation.

Dallas area ranked No. 3 for new jobs among all U.S. metros in July

The Dallas-Plano-Irving area generated new jobs at nearly four times the rate of the Fort Worth-Arlington area in July.
Above is the downtown Dallas skyline.

Sheryl Jean, Published September 1, 2015, Dallas Morning News

For the third straight month, the Dallas-Fort Worth area ranked No. 3 among all U.S. metropolitan areas for the most new jobs as of July.

The D-FW area added 121,700 seasonally unadjusted jobs through the last 12 months ended July 31, according to data released today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

More than three-quarters of those jobs, or 94,300, were added in the East metro — in the Dallas-Plano-Irving area.

The New York area added the most jobs (164,400) followed by the Los Angeles area (157,500). The top three metro areas have remained the same for the last three months.
....

Also today, I wrote that the Dallas area ranked as the No. 1 U.S. metro area for small business jobs for the 11th straight month in August, according to the latest Paychex/IHS Small Business Jobs Index.

“It’s imminent – we will certainly start very soon,” said developer Michael Nazerian. “We still have to work with the city on some utilities and other items.”

Much of the planned project will be one and two story buildings that line the street fronts and will fit in with older, nearby structures, according to designs by architect Gensler.

still hasn't sunk in yet, but it looks like i'll be moving to dallas in two weeks! working in arlington, off i20. anyone have suggestions for a place to move that isn't too expensive (uptown?) but also isn't totally banal suburban? should i consider ft worth? probably the wrong place to even bother asking this, but the texas forum looked pretty sleepy.
