Any update? I've heard whispers it's coming in tonight, under the cover of darkness. Would love to catch the arrival but my sources at 22 Aerial have been so hush hush

I'm not working today but I saw the vis was 1 statute mile, which means additional separation required for arrivals vs departures, but not reduced capacity. It means that the departure has to be rolling before the arrival is 2 nautical miles final to the runway (plus other rules), but with the high altitude we need to have the aircraft be rolling prior to the arrival two nautical miles final anyways.

Those are just dummy flight plans the WestJet folks are doing as they get ready for the 763. It's shown up a few times in the last couple of months.

That's my guess for runways too, smoke is way better today than yesterday at least.

Update, a good source says WestJet has formally requested runway 17L/35R for the arrival.

Are you going to honour their request of the new runway?

flightaware shows it hasn't left yet. (ETD was 4:10pm MST)

What's the likelihood this gets cancelled or delayed 1+ hours?

I'm debating whether to stick around here after work or just call it a day.

A lot of planes formally request another runway, and we formally refuse due to operational restrictions

Not remotely as many times as we have to... The citizens of Calgary have spoken... well, at least a couple dozen of them have, and so we must appease them.

Yeah, WS flight plan not even showing in the system anymore. Who knows when this bird will show up? I'm starting to think it's the longest April Fool's joke ever.

The crew had to go out and stock up on seafood to bring back obviously.
