Builders plan hundreds of homes, apartments in $700 million Richardson project

Plans for the 80-acre Palisades Central development on U.S. Highway 75 north of Galatyn Parkway call for office towers, retail space, apartments and hotel rooms.

Construction on the two housing projects could begin late this year or in early 2016.

Dallas architect Good Fulton & Farrell designed the apartments.

“We have zoning to build another 2 million square feet of office space,” Jordan said. “That’s big enough to handle another State Farm.

“We made a commitment for the long term to build this out,” he said. “It’s a seven- to 10-year development.”

Hotel and condo tower announced for Frisco’s Wade Park project

Frisco’s planned Wade Park development has landed another hotel. Langham Hotels & Resorts has agreed to open its first Texas hotel in the project in 2018.

The international hotel chain plans to operate a 250-room hotel in a 35-story high-rise that will also include residential units, according to Wade Park builder Thomas Land & Development of Atlanta. Wade Park is a 175-acre mixed-use development that is projected to cost $1.6 billion when it’s completed.

“We are thrilled to partner with Langham Hospitality Group to introduce the prestigious five-star Langham Hotels & Resorts brand to North Texas,” Stan Thomas, president and CEO of Thomas Land and Development, said in a statement.

I don't know that there was ever anything "real" behind the twin 80 story tower project.

Wow! Although Frisco is a beast I wasn't expecting a tower this good yet. That Streetlights tower is equally impressive. Both in areas I would not have not bet to be that tall for different reasons.

Cityplace/West Village must be really selective about their last 3 lots to be missing out on some of these developments.

The good news for Dallas continues! Construction on the new J.P.Morgan Chase tower located next to Trammell Crow Center is to start before year's end.

The new high-profile tower could easily reach a significant height (40-60 stories) given the number of parking spaces, retail, apartments and hotel rooms it will have. With groundbreaking before year's end renderings should be forthcoming soon. Another parking lot bites the dust!

J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.'s decision to add a high-profile, mixed-use development near Trammell Crow Center in downtown Dallas is a 'critical' move for the future success of the skyscraper.

"The addition of the parking spaces is absolutely critical," Phil Puckett, an executive vice president for CBRE, told the Dallas Business Journal. "Parking has become a very in-demand requirement by tenants in that sector of town right now."

With KPMG fully moved into KPMG Plaza, Puckett said executives and employees that had previously parked in the building's 2,000-space parking garage have become displaced and available parking has become scarce.

That doesn't include the company expansions and relocations to the city's central business district that are further exacerbating the problem of skyscrapers in downtown Dallas being under-parked.

Construction is slated to get underway by the end of the year. The upscale hotel is expected to attract a nationally-branded flag.
