So based on that rendering and tweet it sound like it will be the dark grey on the flat outside sections , and a more golden tile on the curvier stuff? That could look neato.

Honestly wanted to crawl into a hole and never come out if this thing would end up all grey, lol

I think so. Should look very neat as this arrangement will create more visual depth. There could also be a pinch of a death star effect, though I suspect these tiles will not be overly reflective.

The drawings seem to show additional variability between tiles, but that seems like a false effect that will not materialize, or am I wrong on that?

It is as clearly illustrated in this older render...

If you look closely, in this render you can even see the breaks at each floor where the grey tiles will be thinner, to allow light in through the strips which currently have no tile, between the sections.

I'm ok with this.

Glad to hear there will be a second colour of tile. Saw the grey ones on Sunday. They looked good but would appear quite monotonous alone.

As this starts finishing out, there is a possibility this will look like a modernized version of brutalist architecture. Clearly not with concrete, but just visually. Looking forward to the gold tile to absolve this fear.

While "some" brutalist architecture needs to be preserved because it is of historic significance, I'm certainly not one for advocating new buildings like that.

For once I actually agree with you suburbia. This building has always reminded me of brutalist structures (but the good kind). My hope is the reflective tiles will give it some warmth and light.

I was worried about it being all gray as well, but there was a potential for it to have a shimmering gray metallic look which might have looked pretty cool.

The nice thing about the gold is that it hasn't been overdone. While the gray metallic can be pretty cool, but has been done to death and is cliché.

Was driving by yesterday and checked out the tile - I think it's going to look fabulous ... At least in the bright sun.

I was wondering that too. Are you sure it's not just the insulation they'll put the tiles overtop of? I can't see it being stucco. Wouldn't even match it slightly.

Such is what happens when there is a shared property line.

Somehow, I'm reminded of space shuttle tiles, or bathroom tiles. I can't decide which.

Indeed. At some point one would expect that the adjacent parcel will get developed. I'm just relieved that they are only doing at one end and the rest are tiles.
