Beach water is too cold? Bullshit. I was swimming in at english bay last month and THIS was the water temperature. It tends to stay around 18c to 22c throughout the summer.

Not sure why anyone would complain about the water at a beach. If you want to go swimming you go to a pool. Beaches are about sand. Namely getting sand everywhere (your teeth, your food, your shoes, your bathing suit, your clothes, your hair, your fingernails, your skin in places you'd think nothing could stick, your food you brought, your food you bought, etc.).

Hey what's the beach scene like in Hamilton? Not sure ive seen any pics. You're right about sand getting everywhere but why is Miami, Mexico and Hawaii so popular??

Hamiltonians mostly go to Port Dover if they want to go to the beach and swim (Lake Ontario isn't super clean after all), but if you just want to stroll along a beach then Hamilton Beach has a fair amount of continuous sand. I think from the canal that gets into the harbour there's probably a good 8 or so kilometres of mostly continuous sandy beaches and the lakefront from there until Grimsby looks to be about 50% beach from google maps, but its mostly private property with various waterfront houses.

As for Miami, Mexico, and Hawaii, that's because masochists love to go get stuck in horrible humidity, dangerous temperatures, and bug infested areas, the idea of adding sand in every bite is just extra torture and so wonderful to them.

That is by far my favourite view of Edmonton's skyline. I've driven over the overpass just past Campbell Rd countless times wishing I could stop to snap a quick picture.

Crazy thing is that due to Edmonton's predominantly flat layout the skyline looks even bigger from this angle. Once Stantec and Delta are built they're really going to stick out from this angle.
