I always thought The Keg would be a great fit in the Canada Permanent. They are renowned for opening in historical buildings and preserving them. Should we be worried that we've never seen any For Lease signs?

Its a little small for a Keg. I recall so many meals in there when it was the Japanese Village and it was tight then.

I don't think that Korean BBQ can generate the liquor sales and tips that someone would need to make a go of the building / location. Who ever goes in has to generate significant revenue as a renter or be non-profit /for-profit as an Owner. If you own and are not looking to pay back the capital and improvement investment just about anything can go there. There is a reason that Japanese Village vacated.

Does one of the leasing companies put out building diagrams with rental space available per tower? I remember seeing CBRE doing that for Calgary years ago. Mostly useful to see if big tenders seeking contiguous space can fit at a glance.

Enbridge is consolidating to Kelly Ramsey Tower and Manulife Place.

Who is left that may be seeking a big block?

Id, rather it be someone from Leduc than someone from Vancouver or the like. Don't want to go deep into the poaching game.

That is how SHAW ended up in Calgary along with the National Energy Board. Telus in Vancouver...etc etc etc. Decisions did not just happen overnight at a boardroom table without some prior intervention - there was political lobbying going on by competing cities in the backdrop. I have no qualms about hustling a company to relocate to Edmonton and think use of our tax dollars is a wise spend.

Didn't Shaw relocate its HQ to Calgary in the mid-1990s because the city council at the time didn't give two shits about keeping it in Edmonton, as well as the airport debate (I still remember damn well what the CEO of Shaw said: "Get one airport.")?
