It's right next to the water park that I was at once on my trip there. The ferry and the water park are the only things I remember about Tsawwassen.

It's a shame though that we still built malls like this in 2016. I guess we still haven't learnt anything from the 60's and 70's.

The outer GTHA has gotten two new Outlet malls like that in the last few years, one along the 401 between Mississauga and Milton and another between St. Catherine's and Niagara Falls. Plus the one up near Barrie got gutted and rebuilt.

This is the first indoor mall to be built in BC since 1988. It wouldn't have been allowed in this day and age, except this is on First Nations land and the city/province couldn't stop it.

Well as hard as you can try, the truth is a very large portion of people will always want to live a suburban, car-oriented life with the malls and power centres that go along with them. Some municipalities exist purely to cater to these people and while they'll densify some area, they'll also permit this. However, in this case it should be noted that this is being built on a reserve, so there really wasn't anything anybody could do about it.

Also, directly north of the mall we'll be getting a brand new power centre, which will be home to South Delta's first Wal Mart!!!!

Moves like this feel like they take back all the good things that cities are going through right now.

There's also a theatre like that in Richmond. Somehow it appears less ugly there but that could be due to better integration or simply because of its surroundings.

As for Laval's logo all I can think of is Q-Bert.

Edit: it would be great to integrate that logo into the clocktower. Hmmm... Getting ideas for Photoshop.

Laval as a city is a mess, but if you look at each neighborhood separately, they are really not that bad (especially Ste-Rose, St-Vincent, St-François and LDR in my opinion).
Even if you look at Chomedey as a suburban city of 100k people with its downtown being "downtown Laval" west of A15 (no Résidences Soleil), it's not so bad. Very car-oriented, but pretty decent for its size.

Fortunately it can only get better... Right?
