I believe that's about the same size as the main tower at 1180 Peachtree. I'll put my money on 40 stories if it's a single tower design.
RocketSurgeon - you must feel like someone just kicked you in your hairy taters. Sorry I couldn't help myself.

I think its more an issue with the quality of the render. Add in reflections and the built environment and i think it will look pretty good.

That is not iconic at all especially compared to our great 700+ footers.

This is far from "iconic"..

I hope you are right, the rendering is awful.

Lol. I was thinking the same thing. I do feel that it will look really nice once built. Personally, the student towers for Georgia Tech are not breathtaking...this will look impressive next to those towers.

I keep looking at it and find it hard to believe that this is going to be it...

That's the ugliest proposal in Atlanta is past 2 years.
I don't understand why they can't make something around 500 feet tall, one shape slick with nice park/green space around it.
This looks like Target store will occupy bottom floor.

Seriously, it looks like they flattened the Terminus building and added it onto the side of the low rise portion. Really low quality rendering...maybe the meeting will reveal more, but I'm undoubtedly not impressed. It'll bring jobs which means it will bring more people to the core which means more residential construction and infill which is what I care about most.

NCR

It looks like a 20 story Devon Energy HQ in OK City. I don't hate it, but it was certainly oversold.

The angles on the building are just very awkward and hulking. Terminus is far more pleasing to the eye.

It isn't a render, it is a miniature model.

Also, the Cheshire Bridge Development by i85 is moving forward. They filed land disturbance permits.

I humbly accept defeat with my 40-floor estimate. I see they're taking the short and stocky approach

Yeah - I was beginning to think you were back on the crystal meth (again) hypothesizing 500K square feet of space would equal a 40 story trophy tower.

Unhappy

RE: NCR mockup

Well that is.... Something. Honestly I kinda like the podium. But the tower portion is just uninspired. It looks bulky. They are clearly looking for very large floor plates here, but I would really like to hear some measurements. Is it 20 stories tall? Is it 35? ( appears it's closer to 20 ). Really do need some perspective. If it was twice as tall we would probably all be ecstatic right now. I can think of a few ways to improve the design. But if it is as bulky as it seems, it's gonna be tough. It's like a less interesting terminus as it is so far

Hmm...not too impressive. It looks too short and stubby for the scale of the base. Hoping it will look better when built, but if it's built as shown here, it will be about the 53rd best looking building in the city.

I can't complain about all of the jobs it's bringing into the city, but was certainly hoping for something more inventive.

And just speculating here, but I'd imagine this will be about 1.5x the height of the newly built student towers next to it so this should make quite an impact.
I like it, too. To me the design is vaguely reminiscent of the way the U.N. Plaza is set up.

Maybe I am making this up but I thought I read somewhere that part of NCR's goal was to have a building that opened its work spaces to the public so that people could see its engineers at work.

Those new renders help. Still bulky and squatty.. But we can't judge too hard when a Fortune 500 company is spec-building their headquarters in our city can we? Well I guess we can. But! I can deal with it given these new angles. They aren't going to build a 700 foot tower just because we like tall towers. From the looks of it this could be 350 feet or so --- total off the cuff estimate but seems plausible. Next to the highway it will be a welcome addition.
