Energy Solutions

Anybody else notice that the Wells Fargo center downtown has the words "Energy Solutions" on the bottom level now? Did they move their offices into the tower?

They did indeed - took up residence on some of the upper floors for their offices. They just spent a ton of time remodeling and have finally taken up space here. I think it was around floor 17 but not 100% sure on that.

Those town homes look like they are built on West Temple instead of Almond St. by looking at the photos.

I am so glad they are filling that empty lot. It has so much potential.

They should change the top glow of the Wells Fargo Center from blue to radioactive green now.

Kind of like what they did with the water tower at Trolly Square. I never noticed it until last night, but it is now green and blue, more green than there is blue. Maybe it changes to multiple colors depending on holidays, events, weather or special occasions?

Mayor proposes major enhancements to the City's park system. We'll see in November is Salt Lake residents will vote for the parks bond and a sales tax increase for transit.

I'd vote for it if I still lived in the city. (I'm sad that I don't live in the city.)

Talking AUC in list of new buildings planned for downtown

Just saw this article, and after months of lurking on this forum nearly squealed to see the AUC rendering in the image gallery!

They also announced a 23+ story tower to be built on the Arrow Press Building site! First I'm hearing about this! Is it possibly CCH? I hope it's another building, I want CCH to help connect eastern and western downtown! Anybody heard anything new about the Arrow Press site? I remember hearing how the owners just wanted to have it torn down to build a tower, and that looks to be happening.

Nice to see that 151 is still in the pipeline, AUC looks very different though, I almost feel like that was an early rendering and not the currently look of the building.

Arrow Press Highrise:

One of the new plans is to tear down and build a high-rise structure on the site of Arrow Press Square, across from the Salt Palace (and site of the old Dead Goat Saloon and Club DV8). The Downtown Alliance released this artist’s rendering of the concept development:

I hadn't heard of this yet. Anyone have more information on this? It appears to be around 28 stories. Maybe this is the hotel the owner of APS stated he would build if the location wasn't chosen for the CCH.

Yeah I have no Idea where that concept came from. The Downtown Alliance "State of Downtown" link is currently a 404.

Quick thoughts on the list of 14. (cool find).
1. 151- Nice looking building. Next office high-rise after 111 in SLC.
2.Regent Street- Gonna Happen soon. Hope they sign a good mix of tenants, and make the pavilion? area a happening place.
3.Eccles Playhouse- As we speak and looks great so far. Hoping it is utilized to the fullest year round.
4. APS- Land bank Lord may have something there, but don't waste any breath.
Looks like a twin to the rendering of AUC. Prime Spot.
5. Garbett at Pioneer Park- Cool stuff for that area. Did someone say they had already started clearing the site?
6. Regent Hotel- Eat-a-cowpie to THIS? One of the greatest turn-arounds of our time. My hopes are on this one more than any other.
7. Liberty Crest- Great looking development. Best of the recent residential, happening now.
8. 111- Beats the shit out of the Bennion, but sadly, another box.
Decent height, and would have looked way better if they kept the beveled look exterior (see 350 Mission in S.F.).
9. AUC- I don't care, I like the top. Would be a great addition to the city, and pretty sure it's gonna happen in one form or another. Just hope they keep the height. There's competition now with Regent and APS.
10. LaPorte - When Pigs successfully play the Lincoln Center, one night Classical, the next Jazz.....in tuxedos...as a group... you know it really would be a cool project as they once dreampt.
11. Paragon- Gonna Happen, way cool.
12. Airport terminal- Great. Let it happen. .....
13. Station Center- Lots of potential here. How soon this actually fills up is anyone's guess. Interesting battle brewin' here between the homeless and........everyone.
14. Courtyard Marriott- This is pretty much done, No?
Garden Variety. Yawn. Whatever.

The Garbett project is well underway. I took the following pic last week but have been too lazy to post it:

Wow.. Arrow Press Square tower? That came out of nowhere!

Is it possible we have 4+ 20+ story towers going up in the next couple of years?

I don't know you guys. This looks fishy to me. No one saw this one coming. we have seen other renderings from students before...and this looks too much like if the Old Air Center proposal and the Regent Hotel proposal had a love child. I hope it is real. I would love it....but I have my doubts
